A new five million square foot international terminal in New Delhi opened over the weekend at Indira Gandhi International Airport, according to CNN.

Terminal 3 cost $3 billion and has 63 elevators, imported granite floors, 95 immigration counters and is home to India's first transit hotel. The building will also have a green component: skylights will save on energy consumption during the day.
The terminal will handle roughly 34 million passengers each year, making it one of the busiest in the world.
The opening, which was attended by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress Party President, Sonia Gandhi, came 37 months after plans were revealed (the construction met their goal of opening in time for October's Commonwealth Games).
