Having run the horror section at a bookstore, it was sad to see the descent of horror literature into crab-fests (so to speak). I had to stock the newest and latest blood-drippers, but worked hard to make sure I had examples of classic horror as well. I'm sure I enriched my vocabulary immensely by reading people like Lovecraft, Clark Ashton Smith, Machen, etc. And yes, I do have a collection of Arkham House editions!
