Rachel Dratch Pregnant

people.com:

Looks like Amy Poehler's baby-on-the-way will have a friend from the start: her former Saturday Night Live costar and friend, Rachel Dratch, is expecting her first child, PEOPLE has confirmed.

The actress, 44, is due in September but no other details -- including the baby's father -- are available.

What a downer, Debbie!

One of the most cracking-up lines in the legendary Debbie Downer sketch was "By the way, it's official, I can't have children!" Freaky..

Yeah, that's why I said it. No one could pull that off like her.

I hope that the baby looks like the father and not Rachel. That photo of her scares the willies out of me. She looks deranged.

this is why Sharron Angle's stance on abortion is wrong. the public, neighbors, co-workers, etc all make value judgements. immagine if she was rapped, do you think she wants to hear "that's great, when are you due". "how selfish of you, think about the child", etc.

Hooray!!!! This woman is hilarious. The world needs more Dratch!

Oops, I was wrong. My friend had his first child with his wife at 43 and then the 2nd one at 46. He's now 52. So....he worries about being 64 when the 2nd one graduates high school.

One worries I guess if you will see them marry and you may not even get to know your grandchildren in life.

That's the nature of time, it doesn't lesson the joys of children and all they offer. Also a physical representation of your legacy or your mark on the world is largely due to the children you leave behind. I say great for her and she has my best thoughts over the length and birth of her baby.

it seems unfair to a kid though ...There a some second family dads that I know...it is sort of pathetic to see a 60 year old guy chasing a 5 year old around...

My father had us according the the "normal" time schedule, and died at 52. He never got to know any of his grandchildren.

It's all relative.

Do peeps worry when there's many fathers (I know 2 in real life) that didn't have kids until they were 41 and 43. One started his family at 41 and then had the other child at 43. Granted his wife was in her 30's, but it's also important to do the arithmetic on father's ages too, like calculationg he will be 64 when his second child graduates from HIGH SCHOOL.

Could you imagine? I couldn't.

Lots of people have children in their 40s. It's no big deal. Married couples often have unplanned pregnancies in their 40s! I know an AA man now in his 80s whose father was a former slave. The father sired 21 children, and was 79 when my friend was born. My ex-wife's father was 64 when she was born, and he died when she was 30, at age 94. Doctors told her she couldn't have children and then BAM, she got pregnant at 43 and carried the child to term. There are lots of different ways to live this life.

I agree, people are waiting longer to have children. Age doesn't make you a good or bad parent, how you treat your child does. The people I know who waited are actually more financially prepared to have children, and able to spend more time with their kids because they are more secure in their careers. No right or wrong way though, everyone is different.

My friends parents were in their early 40's when he was born. He will be 30. His parents are active and healthy and it's never been an issue. I think as long as you take care of yourself and provide your kids with love who cares.
