Mel Gibson Hurls ANOTHER Racist Slur: Wetbacks

Mel Gibson has spewed hatred about blacks and Jews, and now he is caught on tape making a bigoted remark about Hispanics.

Mel referred to one of his staffers as a "wetback," Radaronline.com reports.

"I will report her to the f**king people that take f**king money from the wetbacks," he said.

'Wetbacks' is a slur originally used to disparage Mexicans who swam across the Rio Grande to enter Texas illegally. It seems Mel was threatening to turn his staffer over to immigration authorities.

Radar has listened to tapes recorded by Mel's ex, Oksana Grigorieva, the mother of their infant daughter. As previously reported, the tapes also contain an ugly N-word rant and an admission that Mel beat Oksana.

"You know what? You f**cking deserved it," he reportedly told her after hitting her in the face twice while she was holding the baby.

Well! i do Not like for others to use derrogative Words; i don't know why he is insulting - is pure Ignorance Not all Latin American cross the river from Mexico and besides Most of them are hard Working Individuals who put up w/ descriminative words and actions from people like so. Being from a mixed family, it's pretty hard not to get affected by racism. And I've seen it go in all directions. Prejudice and bigotry shouldn't be tolerated. It is finally to the point where racism isn't tolerated (well mostly anyway). But it wasn't that long ago that his rants may have gone by without too much fuss. But what about other forms of prejudice, sexism, ageism (e.g. too old/young for a job), etc.? Hey how about whipping boy Tom Cruise who's only crime is attacking psychiatric drugs and his belief in Scientology. If you defend him, you will be accused of being a Scientologist. But if you don't, what makes that different than condoning other forms of bigotry? If someone is a sexist but not a racist, is that ok? If someone is a racist but not a sexist? How about a religist? (prejudice against Jews or Catholics or Atheists or, or, or?) There is one word covering them all. Bigot. Don't be that, and help defend all people who are effected by bigotry.

I don't think Tom Cruise is a good example of someone suffering from the sting of bigotry. I am sorry but a fake "religion" (or cult) like Scientology which was set up to bilk people out of money does not deserve the same protection as religions that, while they may be difficult to believe, mostly promote tolerance and peace.

It is so sad to see this guy melt down so badly. I can understand anger over a relationship failling, I can understand drunkeness, I can even understand some self destruction at a bad time...I just can't understand the fact that he keeps going to the racism well. What the heck do Jews or African Americans have to do with his problems? Also, if it turns out to be true that he battered his wife, then some time should be served. I don't care how much talent you have shown in the past Mel, most of the American public will not stand for this garbage.

At the end of the day I along with many others, pray that Mr.Gibson will take part in his own wellness and do the work required when getting therapy and getting clean & sober.

I personally forgive you Mr. Gibson, and I'm not throwing away my copy of Braveheart, that is like the baby with the bathwater. Too many fine performances in that flick, Mad Max too.

I wisely skipped the Passion of the Christ after I read about a middle aged woman having a heart attack during the torture scenes...That could be me if I ventured where my staunch Christian friends tried to get me to follow...Thanks, I good without it, and from what I have read from others that suffered through this sadistic fare, I was smart to have avoided it all together.

The Christ once said you can tell my trees by the fruit they bare...Mr Gibson your fruit ain't nothing like the fruit the ever merciful Lord Jesus Christ was talking about....Nothing! Do the real work and save yourself. It won't be easy or pleasant, but it must be done for you to find salvation in the world of kinder and gentler human beings.

Yeah, Braveheart was a great film. I saw it again after many years, and it still stands up.

She was taping him so she could sell the tapes too. People are assuming she taped him to squeeze money out of him which, in the absence of facts, I find completely unfair.

She could have taped him for a number of reasons. One might be that, as a victim of domestic violence, she wanted evidence to charge him. Another is that she feared for her life. I've read that statistically, the most dangerous time in an abused woman's life is shortly after she decides to leave her abuser . Perhaps she feared that because he's rich and powerful and famous, nobody would believe her claims of abuse. Perhaps she did it to protect her child in a custody battle. Would you want your child raised by a man who is capable of horrendous violence - in front of your child?

And in the event of a separation, why shouldn't she expect Mel to support their child?

It's strange how this guy gets a half a dozen articles about his racists remarks, horrible indeed, yet I see nothing on hufpo about the Black Panther videos that came out recently citing "I hate white people, every last one of them" Or "must kill cracker babies" - What am I missing here? Ding-a-ling, Fox Snooze makes much of the "New Black Panther Party" and its racist King Shabazz; but nobody claims them, there isn't much of a movement. It's a bunch of loose cannon Blacck racists.

This situation involves a prominent star who has made repeated claims about his religious devotion, rejection of anti-Semitism and racism, and devotion to his family. Turns out he is an abuser who physically/verbally/emotionally batters women AND a racist.

Strange how you can't figure out the difference.

So Mel Gibson is an idiot, I agree. I can't stand this guy for many reasons, but if he wants to be a racist, be my guest, it's his decision. I just have not heard him say that he was training others to hide to kill cops and calling for the murder of all white men and white babies. I have not seen him at voting booths with weapons strapped on chanting hate speech. But hey, maybe Mel is more dangerous as an idiot on the set of a movie in Hollywood, how would I know, I am of "low level intellect" and "show a SERIOUS lack of social competence", thanks guys for the attacks, I hope you are better for it.

well considering how many people are being called racist for pointing out when racism is happening, i fully understand how you feel the way that you do.

um, i think he's racist. i mean, if you repeatedly get caught using racial epithets at various instances recorded at different times, then this is something that's part of your vocabulary regularly enough. And if you say things like this regularly enough, I'd think you were pretty racist.

I mean, sheesh.....people aren't burning crosses anymore, everyone! I don't get this whole, "Well it's not a lynching and no one burned a cross so it can't be racism" kind of attitude. We're really lacking in critical reasoning skills in this country if that's the way things qualify as racism.

Well, he hasn't gone through apology, contrition, reparative therapy and major donations to charities representing those offended.

If Jimmy Swaggart can pull his manhood out of a prostitute and re-mount the pulpit, Gibson can spin this. He's super rich and there are plenty of Anglos with racist tendencies who will forgive him. I would hope the domestic abuse situation would put him beyond the pale, but even that can be forgiven by the emotionally and socially inept.

I was just reading about his firing from William Morris, his agency. It will be hard for him to get outside money to produce and distribute films, he has a new film called "The Beaver" which is expected to languish on shelves for a looooooooong time. If he puts up his own money for a project, who will work with him? DiCaprio is already hoping for a joint project to fall apart.
