Paris's Haute Couture shows were reasonably tame this year but some real head-scratchers and eye-poppers still made it down the runway. Check out our roundup of the strangest looks and tell us which are just out there, and which are truly outrageous.

The Dior and Valentino were actually some of my favorites! I blogged on them... http://www.beautylabny.com/blog/2010/07/16/pair-couture-shows-fall-2010-part-i-haute-right-now/

i dont get haute couture. all that labour wasted & $ wasted to wear a crazy looking outfit for a fashion show? that is so wateful & makes no sence.

no wonder versace baby socks are $30.
ALL brand names are ridiculously overpriced, & the price doesnt neccessarily mean good quality.

i am sticking with thrift stores, target, jcpenny, sears.

Haute Couture is about art. It isn't for you to wear. People don't wear most of these outfits. They should have had someone who had a clue about fashion would have written this article. Haute couture is good quality because most of it is hand made and NOT mass produced. Most of the things labeled haute couture isn't. Most of your target, jcpenny, sears and other clothing have buyers that go to these fashion shoes and make knock offs of what is walking down the runway. A lot of the manufacturers are in China and are using inferior fabrics and techniques. But some of the things you pay for are of fantastic quality. The versace baby socks for thirty bucks in the store is mass produced crap that is made for department stores. The stuff in the boutiques are of much, much better quality.

Love the Valentino bubbles.
Is it just me, or is the purple Vauthier shirt a ripoff of J.Wow's "creation" on Jersey Shore? (the shirt is also known as "Every Mother's Nightmare")

Pic #10: What can one possibly say about --trying to be as delicate as possible, really I am-- a dress made from hemorrhoids?

Oh no! They're having fun again. Quick, someone call the uniform police. Nonconformity is a greater danger to America than terrorism, corporate purchase of elections, and the Homosexual Agenda combined.

"I'm sorry Miss. Was your frock purchased at Nordstrom or another provider approved by the Department of Homeland Security. I'm afraid your shoes have been classed as enemy combatants."

It would be amazing if every human being could dress as creatively as he/she wanted and be celebrated for it. We are all sheep when it comes to fashion. This haute couture is life-affirming.

#3 looks nice. # 9 and #11 I could see as something to water down for next year.

I heard a designer on the tube say that these outfits aren't supposed to be taken literally but are to be a suggestion of next seasons designs.

Well I don't know about you, but I'm not getting any ideas whatsoever from this junk. I can only think of Halloween.
