Aren't these the schools that produced most of the Wall Street Crooks? I'm just asking.

What's this? The U of Beck seems to be missing here.

Something has gone terribly wrong.

Is Beck U a school for Business or a school for Dummies?

The phrase "best business school" seems like an oxymoron since we don't seem to be doing all that well lately. Perhaps the "best business school" would be one where you graduate without losing an arm and a leg.

These schools are responsible for the disaster known as the US economy. They teach greed as a virtue.

You said it sir. People go to business school so they can graduate with MBAs and get high paying salaries for producing nothing substantial.

It is these institutions which taught administrators how to raid and outsource our industries.

Soon, China and India won't need the US management class any more than they needed our assembly workers.

I suppose those countries will continue to buy our wheat and the buildings shown above may one day serve as grain silos.

NEW RULE ------the objective of business is not to MAXIMIZE PROFIT while taking outrageous risks that put my equity at stake but rather ....................

the objective of business is top make a REASONABLE PROFIT and while preserving the value of my equity

your broker/investment advisor is supposed to determine your risk profile (i.e. - are you high risk or low risk?) and invest on your behalf accordingly. they are supposed to be acting on your behalf and in your best interest.
01:36 AM on 07/10/2010
some risk is unreasonable no matter what your profile is. Those risk profiles are adjusting for intrinsic risk in the asset classes. Sometimes the big dogs go overboard with other people's money.

"...supposed to be acting on your behalf..."

Did you get this from "Bear Sterns 101" or was it something you read in an 1950's business text?

The MBA is grossly over rated. These schools are producing people who know something about marketing and financial manipulation, and little else. They take charge of perfectly good, productive American companies, eliminate manufacturing and the jobs, eliminate R and D expenditures thus guaranteeing no future products, purchase all goods overseas, locate their headquarters overseas to eliminate U.S. taxes, and generally trash opportunities for the majority of the American middle class. Many other graduates go to banks and Wall Street, where they execute schemes to steal from the public. Who needs most of them?

The best business school today is the University of Las Vegas, they have a really good gambling course, you could get a job on Wall Street right away.

These are some of the same schools who's professors told their students it was okay to fight regulation to bring about a free market place where you could take your clients money and do whatever you wanted to with it. With no effect on themselves. After all, morals had nothing to do with business.

I bet the schools also include "the proper use of contractions" and "homophone awareness" in their curricula.

Here's to both Chicago Booth and Wharton...two very good schools. I'm a Chicago alumnus, but is the only other B School to which I would have gone.

HBS? Don't waste my time.
