Sherry Ann Hartison Charged After Allegedly Setting Boyfriend On Fire

A West Side woman faces attempted murder charges Tuesday after allegedly setting her boyfriend on fire when he refused to give her money.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Sherry Ann Hartison, 42, was involved in an argument with her boyfriend on July 2 over money. When he refused to give her cash, she allegedly poured gasoline on him before lighting him and the apartment they were in on fire.

The man suffered burns to 65 percent of his body and was critically injured, police told the Sun-Times.

Hartison was arrested shortly after the incident at her apartment in the 3100 block of West Washington Boulevard, the Chicago Tribune reports.

She has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated arson, heinous battery and aggravated domestic battery.
