Microsoft Exec Mocks iPhone 4's Antenna Issues

BURN: Microsoft Exec Mocks The iPhone 4

Some are calling the iPhone 4's antenna issues a software glitch. Some are calling for a recall of the phone. And someone is calling it Apple's Windows Vista. That someone is Kevin Turner, Microsoft's COO.

Turner criticized Apple's iPhone 4, which has been shown to lose signal strength when held a certain way, at Microsoft's Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) on Wednesday, comparing it to Microsoft's lackluster Vista operating system, dubbed one of the company's worst ever.

"It looks like the iPhone 4 might be their Vista, and I'm okay with that," Turner said, according to ComputerWorld.

Turner also made a pitch for Microsoft's Windows 7 Phone, which is set to launch later this year. "One of the things I want to make sure you know today is that you're going to be able to use a Windows Phone 7 and not have to worry about how you're holding it to make a phone call," he explained.

Turner isn't the first Microsoft exec to doubt Apple's smartphone: in a 2007 interview, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer burst out laughing at Apple's iPhone.

Is the iPhone 4--which received lavish praise from critics when it first launched--Apple's Vista, as Turner suggests it may be? Tell us in the comments below.
