In the wake of recall rumors and a Consumer Reports review that pointed to a "design defect" with Apple's new smartphone, Apple CEO Steve Jobs took the stage at a press conference today to announce how Apple will address the iPhone 4's antenna issues.
The answer? Apple will offer free iPhone 4 cases to anyone who has purchased the new smartphone. The giveaway will only last through September 30, however. Users who have already bought iPhone 4 bumpers will be offered a refund.
Despite asserting that "there is no Antennagate," Steve Jobs offered an apology to customers that were having problems with the iPhone 4's antenna. "You know, most of the customers that have iPhone 4s think it is the coolest thing they ever owned," he also noted.
