Old Spice Guy In College? WATCH 'The Man Your Grades Could Be Like' (VIDEO)

First Posted: 7/16/10   Updated: 5/25/11

The Harold B. Lee library at Brigham Young University is tapping into Old Spice's viral marketing campaign to promote, of all things, studying -- and the execution is quite impressive.

According to Urlesque, this is not the first YouTube video from the savvy library.

What do you think? A fighting parody or a feeble attempt at replication? Weigh in below.

The New Spice commercial put out by the HBLL at BYU capitalized on the wave of popularity of the Old Spice commercials and the macho speak uttered by their leading men. For whatever reason people just love parodies. Here is another more recent parody put out by BYU Alumni. What do you think? Is it any good? http://youtu.be/VfCy_t4BH9Y

That was brilliantly executed by BYU. But the thing that impressed me the most was that they managed to find a black guy at BYU.

The star of this video is Stephen Jones. Stephen is the president of BYU's stand-up comedy club, Humor U. You should check out Stephen's stand-up comedy videos. He is hilarious! And he dances too! http://www.youtube.com/user/theofficialHumorU

You didn't get the memo? Mormons no longer think Blacks are inferior beings put on the planet to deceive man and plot the destruction of the earth. Now they see them as spokes persons for a new enlightened Church. I'll resend memo.

Yea That memo is being evaluated.

As soon as they get rid of the "black skin was the mark of cain" stuff in their scriptures we will do a review.

Yes, the Mormon's are now reserving all their wrath for California Homosexuals like me, spending their millions to insure that we can't marry who we want to.

Can we please stop perpetuating the idea that the old spice guy is funny?

Bruce Campbell was a much better spokesman.
