Sarah Palin 'Refudiate' Twitter Remark Causes FLOOD Of #ShakesPalin Tweets

Huffington Post     First Posted: 7/20/10   Updated: 5/25/11

After Sarah Palin's Twitter shoutout to William Shakespeare, the question arose -- what types of things would Palin say if she wrote like Shakespeare all the time?

Thanks to the minds of clever Tweeters, we're getting a glimpse of that today, with tweets ranging from heavily political to light-hearted and humorous based on popular Shakespeare quotes.

It all started with this tweet from Palin: "Ground Zero Mosque supporters: doesn't it stab you in the heart, as it does ours throughout the heartland? Peaceful Muslims, pls refudiate."

But refudiate is not a word.

Palin deleted the tweet, posted a follow-up using 'refute' instead, and then addressed critics with this tweet: ""Refudiate," "misunderestimate," "wee-wee'd up." English is a living language. Shakespeare liked to coin new words too. Got to celebrate it!"

The subsequent chatter not only propelled #ShakesPalin to Twitter's trending topics, but led to a @ShakesPalin Twitter account. Vote on the best #ShakesPalin tweets below and let us know great tweets we missed and your OWN Shakespearean Palin lines in the comments below.

And while all the focus is on her act of behaving like a twit by tweet - which is a lot of fun to make fun of her for and frankly one of my favorite past times 'cause I figure that's about her only purpose in life - well lost is the saliant point: She once more revealed herself as a flaming bigot who thinks white Christians (as if she were one of those Christians - uh huh) are the only Americans with any  Read More...

Two years of attacks against Sarah Palin have failed miserably
*
A very pro-Palin post by Daniel Bruski at Right News Channel. A few excerpts:
The 2008 presidential election has been done for almost two years now, and the constant attacks against Sarah Palin have failed miserably. She’s currently the endorsement candidates across America are seeking, and her approval rating among Republicans has skyrocketed – it is 76% according to a Gallup Poll conducted on July 16. Among all Americans, on the same Poll, it stands at 44%. In my opinion, I believe Palin’s favorable ratings among Republicans and all Americans will strengthen as time goes by. It has no reason not to.

Her image is improving and more people are finally seeing that she is on our side, she is just like the rest of us: a real American that sees the real problems Americans are currently facing. Sarah Palin understands that we need real Conservatives to stand up and work on the side of the people, and not for their own special interests like the Democrats are doing in Congress, the White House, and in states throughout America. People can plainly see that she’s the real deal, and that she is a vigilant fighter. The former Alaska Governor is fighting alongside the common people, the people who are fighting to bring America back on track towards the values our Founding Fathers envisioned for us all over two-hundred years ago.

Sarah Palin isn’t going away...

Of course she's not. She's making millions doing nothing. Who would give that up?

This is what happens when you elect a feel good candidate with no job experience (not a thin resume - NO job experience whatsoever), who not only has never run a business, who even doesn't know anyone who has run a business, and who is not only wholly owned - lock stock and barrel - by UNIONS but is having babies with them. Kumbaya HUFFIES and silly anti-job group thought loons everywhere rejoice for your wish to make America into France (or is it Greece) is finally being realized. Aren't we sophisticated. Lets make fun of Sarah and Rush and Glen,,, he he he we are so clever - so berry berry clever,,, woops did I spell that wrong!

Sarah Palin's "refudiate" makes headlines. Obobo's "epantsipation" is ignored. Don't tell me there's no media bias! #tcot

She's the type of person, who wile giving a speech to a college will say '... He gots a new car!' and then wink and do the 'aw, shucks' thing so she seems to be folksy and charming rather that ignorant and inept.

Generally, freshly coined words that stick are either clever or address some new phenomenon that hasn't yet been satisfactorily named. In Palin's case, she just got confused and combined "refute" with "repudiate." "Refudiate" isn't poetic or coherent. Yes, English is a living language (and I wish she'd take that flexible mindset and apply it to the acknowledgement of expanded constitutional rights {i.e. the Constitution as a living, breathing document]).

But you ain't no Bill Shakespeare, Sarah.
