Bristol Palin: Sarah Palin 'Doesn't Really Approve' Of My Engagement To Levi Johnston

UPDATE: Sarah Palin's lawyer has told TMZ: "The story asserting that Sarah Palin is 'boycotting' Bristol's wedding has been fabricated. There is no truth to this."

Bristol Palin has told Us Weekly that her mom, Sarah, "doesn't really approve" of her and Levi Johnston's engagement. Bristol said, "My mom is not 100 percent backing us up right now," and that, "People are more worried for me than excited for me."

According to Bristol, Sarah believes actions speak louder than words. "She's going to wait to see if [Levi] changes," Bristol explained. "But she's just glad he is getting on the right path. She knows how much Tripp means to me, and she wants Tripp to have a father figure."

In a video on UsMagazine.com, Bristol said, Levi "stepping up and getting his education, GED and whatnot, him getting a job and supporting us emotionally and financially and whatnot then I think [my mom will] accept it and be happy for us."

Bristol also said, "I want to get married soon, just so we can live together and be together all of the time."

Getting married so you can "live together and be together all the time" isn't really a good reason. Maybe you should do the living together and being together and THEN decide if you're ready/willing to get married. Or is that still controversial in 2010?

Sarah denied that they lived together in their family home but it was proven that he had belongings there and stayed overnight with Bristol and in her bedroom and not for just a week end or so. Now they are staying overnight together again and what? She doesn't want them to get married? The problem with the Queen is she doesn't like it because this is not her idea. I hope Bristol stays strong and follows her own mind. Mistakes are made in life and we learn from them. If she makes a mistake, well, okay. then move on. Her decisions should be her own and not her queen mother's.

Tripp deserves to see if a traditional family could work. *sigh* like my sis who got preggers at 17, Bristol is just so young. It's difficult to know what all drama you can sustain at that age. Then again, better to figure it out when you're still young.

True SP is famous. What about Levi's mother? Doesn't she matter. She also the mother of one of the engaged persons and grandmother of the child involved. Why isn't she included in wedding plans or maybe just get an invitation to the wedding. Is she invited, Bristol and Levi? She doesn't know.

She is not in jail but on house arrest. She suffers an incurable painful illness That and lack of money caused her problem with drugs. Todds's sister did worse. As a drug addict and pusher (no known illness), she broke into and robbed homes for money and took her very small daughter with her. She was actually caught with her child in someone's house.

How sad that Sarah has to use a lawyer to respond to a statement that Bristol made. Sarah embodies all this is wrong with her family. She ought to try being around them a little more often and put aside what will be her failed attempts at a political career in the larger arena. She hasn't got it and she has kids that need her. Or maybe they're better off without her....who knows?
