Obamas & Camerons Exchange Gifts

With British Prime Minister David Cameron stateside, the Obamas and the Camerons have traded gifts. The President presented Mr. Cameron with a framed and signed color lithograph titled, "Column with Speed Lines" by Ed Ruscha, according to pool reports. From First Lady Michelle Obama, the very pregnant Samantha Cameron received a gift basket including a baby blanket. The Camerons' daugher, Nancy, received a silver charm necklace and their son, Elwen, a DC United Soccer jersey.

The Camerons gave the Obamas artwork by Ben Eine, "a relatively unknown south London graffiti artist who has three convictions for criminal damage," according to the AFP. Interesting choice! They also gave Malia and Sasha Hunter wellington boots in pink and purple.

I'm glad to see our White House either has someone new buying the gifts or the Obama's developed some class and we gave away more appropriate gifts.

I can insult the Obama's because previously they gave away some DVDs that don't work to a person that is half blind. Just about anything (well, maybe not an iPod to the Queen) would be an improvement and less of an embarrassment. Has Cameron in his role as PM given away demeaning gifts? I don't know. Is the art we received during the gift exchange a demeaning gift? I don't know anything about the artist so I don't know which is what I stated in my original post.
