Daphne Guinness Is Anti-Sweatpants

First Posted: 07/22/10 06:14 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 06:10 PM ET

Like Dita Von Teese, fashionista Daphne Guinness doesn't think much of sweatpants. She told the Daily Mail, "You can tell the state of civilization by the way people dress. If the people who fought two World Wars came back to 2010 and saw all of us running around in tracksuits, what would they think? It is just about being sloppy. And it is not about the money -- it is a mindset."

Hmm...good thing it's too hot outside for pajama pants, anyway.

sweatpants should be for sleep, exercise, and the gym only. Remember when ladies use to look like ladies? I think that's what Dita was getting at anyhow.

I don't dress super formal or in high-end clothing, but I NEVER wear sweatpants in public. I think it's inappropriate. I think they make you look like a slob and like you can't be bothered to get dressed in the morning. They reflect badly upon the wearer. And before anyone says anything, I'm not an old prude, I'm a 19 year old college student.

Nobody looks good in sweatpants. Nobody. Hang around the house in them, but please stay out of the public eye.
