Natalee Holloway

AOL :

Joran van der Sloot has been the subject of worldwide headlines since being charged with killing a Peruvian woman and extorting money from the mother of missing U.S. teen Natalee Holloway. Now the Dutch native's story will be on the silver screen, too, as a movie about him and Holloway has been shot secretly on location.

Greater appeal to a global market. The Dutch media investigations on van der Sloot were far better than what the US offered, (greta/geraldo).

Ends just like the story of Jonah in the Bible. Except the big fish will not be spitting her up.

I know people say "there's no way I'll watch this," but...there's no way I'll watch this. Are they actually going to pretend to know what happened?

Yes it was a tragedy, but if her name had been Shaniqua Jones or Rosario Mendez we'd have likely never heard of her.

Whenever they drag out a tragic missing cute blonde they are trying to hide something. Don't be misled by pretty shiney. Its just a way to keep us off of the BP story which has not gone away. Its a way to keep us away from the environment bill. Its a way to keep us away from wikileaks and the war.

Thank GOD it's a DUTCH movie.
If I see ONE MORE screaming headline about some missing white suburban prom queen while our entire middle class is being clear cut like timber I'll scream.

This is one movie I am not waiting on to see. There is nothing good I can say about van der sloot (if he they can proof he did it,and I am sure they will)
but the reporting at the time all this was in the news wasn't much better.
A lot of miss information on the Aruba and Dutch legal system and I am sure they will get it wrong again if they make this movie.

Again not defending this guy here, nobody feels sorry for him in Holland including me, but the reporting (mostly fox) was terrible.
I am sick of this story. Maybe It's the just the fact he is from Holland too.

No, there is an interesting, creative aspect: How to make a grizzley(sp?) story like this one interesting when its two principal char. are so seemingly boring..... Van der Sloot is a spoiled, cossetted 'loner'--except for his two recruited pals--who LIKELY selected Holloway because she was a naif with floozy tendencies. She comes across as little more than a closetted, party girl who drank well beyond her fighting weight....away from her smothering chaperones. As a literary character, she offers even less of interest than one of the tawdry book marks that protrude from her ornate but unread Bible.

Aside from "easy prey," what sort of lothario would find her interesting....? Neither warrants viewer sympathy....or even empathy. Why would van der Sloot, having committed "a perfect crime" (assuming he did....?) not take it as a gift....and follow his father's footsteps? Because he's crippled by a jejune but inflated ego....?

Is the only solution a story about the investigators, something they discovered about van der Sloots parents.....? To come across as compelling, it'll have to stray from the facts; they're just too....banal?
