Tom Daschle has earned millions of dollars telling the nation's biggest companies how to get what they want from official Washington.

He's not a lawyer, but he works for a law firm -- one that's regularly cited as one of the highest-grossing lobbying shops in town. One of Daschle's most trusted aides is a lobbyist, well known on the Hill as the former Senate Democratic leader's emissary.

In short, Daschle, working with his firm's lobbyists, uses his decades of congressional experience to tell clients how to favorably influence policy.

And he does it for fun? Or money?

He says he doesn't lobby then explains his job description, which is a classic definition of lobbying.

Reminds me of Richard Nixon, when he said: "I am not a crook."

I read some time ago the names of companies from which Daschle (and probably his entire family) earn their money and it was shocking. We are fortunate that yet another sell-out, venal politician isn't in Obama's cabinet.

Daschle is a LIAR. He is symbolic of the convoluted lies that all of our Government people (present and former) tell. He is a con man and he must be a really good one for his fellow-slyimeball lobbyists to turn on him. And where did he learn how to twist the truth, lie with a straight face and have no shame? During his service as a Senator? Who would ever guess that answer?
