Iceland Goal Celebration Simulates Fishing (VIDEO)

First Posted: 07/27/10 12:33 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 06:10 PM ET

When it comes to goal celebrations, it doesn't get much better than this -- except when it does. In a match between Stjarnan and Fylkir in Iceland last weekend, the winning goal celebration was actually better than the winning goal. After Stjarnan's Halldor Orri Bjornsson scored on a penalty kick in extra time to take a 2-1 lead, he and his teammates began pretending they were going fishing. Defender Johann Laxdal was the fish and it all ended with a fake photo shoot. Scroll down to watch the video.

Maybe they could next act out the harpooning slaughter and dissection of of one of the hundreds of whales they murder each year.

This is why I love soccer - In the NFL you'd get a penalty and fine for something like this.

Did you mean Bassketball?
08:25 PM on 07/28/2010
Nope. The beginning of the the movie "Baseketball". Which basically showed that teams spent more time choreographing endzone dances than completing plays.

There is nothing bizarre about it! It's hilarious!

I've been laughing all day at the fish! Johann Laxdal should get an academy award for that performance!

Bizarre? Definitely not!

And a $50,000 fine.
The NFL is dignified - you can not play football and have fun,
that would be too... too icelandic

I'm sure Glenn Beck will come up with some kind of connection between Iceland, soccer, Tides Foundation, and George Soros later tonight.
