Johnny Depp, As Jack Sparrow, Teases 'Pirates Of The Caribbean 4'

Johnny Depp formally introduced 'Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides' at Comic Con over the weekend.

In character as Jack Sparrow, Depp spoke to the camera in a short video, offering rum as he spoke.

He told fans they can expect "zombies, cut throats, mermaids and the vicious, vivacious Penelope Cruz" as they look for the Fountain of Youth.

I would much rather have Depp AS Jack Sparrow and going to the pub with me for drinks, than watching another in this series. I don't dislike the movies, and they are fun for the kids, but I've had my fill. Everyone else: enjoy! :D

I can't wait for this movie to come out. I know lots of you disagree but I enjoyed following Captain Jack Sparrow around while he had the greatest adventures ever.

If Johhny Depp ever teamed up with Michael Jackson that would be the awesomest possible thing because those are the two awesomest dudes on the whole awesome planet! Depp and Jackson - the very definition of absolute awesomeness.

Johnny, I think you're great and I loved the first one due to your unique performance, but the next two not so much. Too much reliance on computer "special effects". On the other hand, if he can make more "small" pictures, go to it. My personal favorite is Secret Window.

Depp is the best actor of his generation. you got to admire an actor that can play Ed wood Jr, John Dillinger , Jack Sparrow and dozens of others. And make them all seem real. He can reprise his Jack Sparrow/Keith Richards charactor until he's eighty. Very few actors have the ability to carry a film. he does it everytime. I have all three pirate movies and enjoy them.

Except he has never 'made them seem real'. He's made them seem cartoonish. When Depp recently got an award for 'Actor of the Decade' (or whatever the title) I was appalled. His grotesque performance in the Chocolate Factory movie should've got his screenactors guild card revoke!

I think he's great. Probably the only reason I saw Alice in Wonderland. Not every movie is a winner, but he is one of the few I will go see just to see him.

However, Willy Wonka WAS a messed up character in the book.

Depp's portrayal of that character was more in line with the book's character.

The first movie was good. I actually fell asleep during the 2nd and don't even remember the plot. The 3rd I didn't bother watching. But I always loved Jack Sparrow's character and I'm a HUGE Johnny Depp fan. He's a great actor.
