The 19 Most Regrettable Pop Culture Tattoos (PHOTOS)

Whether misspelled or of passing Internet trends, a bad tattoo is something you just know when you see it. But what about pop culture tattoos? Permanently inking the name of your favorite popular musician, TV character, or movie franchise may seem like a good idea for now, but these things are called "pop culture" for a reason: Things don't tend to stay popular forever. We couldn't believe some of the pop culture tattoos we found, like Britney's shaved head or the "Snakes On A Plane" logo, but we'd love to be there 20 years down the road when some of these have to be explained. Which would YOU get removed? Check them out and vote for the most regrettable!

Tattoos are for all those masses and masses of "non-conformists" out there (irony?), and the artistically-challenged who feel a need to "express themselves" by having other people draw pictures on them. Perhaps if you're a Medieval Viking, or a Polynesian tribesman, it might - might - make sense, but having someone else draw pictures on you is more like a desperate cry for attention, than a spiritual quest to attain enlightenment. And as for those who claim tattoos on the elderly are no big deal... you're being really selfish and narcissistic (which I guess is the craze these days... everything is all about "me", and the never-ending quest to gain a fleeting sense of "happiness", even if it comes at the expense of others). You happen to share this world with other human beings, and it would be considerate, at the very least, if you didn't make those around you gag on the "artistically expressed non-conformity" inked all over your flabby, wrinkled, underarms.

The Buffy one seriously rocks, and appears more inspired by the comic than the "defunct 90's teen show" which actually lasted until 2003, if we want to get technical.

What's with all of the tattoo hate comments? We get them because we want them. When we're old, we'll probably have bigger problems than our faded, wrinkled skin but at least we'll have lived our lives to the fullest and done things because we wanted to, rather than worrying about what society thought of us. Also, if we happen to get lost in a cave and die during an ill-fated spelunking trip, Anthropologists in the future will ohh and ahh over our tattoos :)

Tony Danza has one too, which he showed the audience when he had his short-lived daytime talk show. He has a tat on his bicep of the famous R. Crumb cartoon, "Keep on Truckin'." Those of you who remember the Seventies would remember it...

It still amazes me that people still have the ignorant misconceptions about tattoos in the year 2010.

First off, you don't have to agree with it (obviously) but that doesn't make you a better person for not having tattoos.

People get them because they want to. End of story. Contrary to whatever you hear on LA Ink and any other garbage Hollywood fabrication, some long, drawn out life story is not a prerequisite for tattooing. Get what you like! It's really that simple.

Regarding the lame argument of "Well what's going to happen once you get old?" ...guess what? None of us are guaranteed tomorrow. Understood? I may not make it to 80 years old, and even if I do, at least I enjoyed my life and lived it to the fullest.

One of the things in life that people do not have any control over is how they look. Most (obviously, not all) people choose body modifications to express themselves. Here again, you don't have to agree with it, and some ideas are better than others, but at the end of the day it's their body.

Sorry to rant, but it's really disheartening to read some of the ridiculous comments about tattoos on this thread.

You're absolutely right. If you want to immediately make yourself look like you belong in a trailer park or did hard time or fought a war, get a tat. It's your choice, but you have to deal with the consequences.

And, really, 60 year old people with full sleeve tats? It's not buying and wearing a color changing shirt that you can toss once it goes out of style. You mark yourself like that, and it's fairly permanent for the most part. I think there are better ways to "express yourself" that don't involve defacing your body to such an extent.

Just because you disagree with people who don't care for most tats doesn't mean they're ignorant, any more than you're ignorant for getting them.

Remember kids: poor choices are for everyone!

Look, just because your house has a parking brake doesn't mean you have to include other people with you. I have a full sleeve and a very good office job. Imagine that. Plenty of doctors, lawyers and other professional also sport tattoos.

You are really showing your level of intelligence by making a huge generalization back only by your OPINION, not fact.

A good tattoo is not defacing your body. It's art. And as far as it "going out of style," ...considering that it has been around since Neolithic times, I wouldn't recommend holding your breath.

How very very sad for the people who did this to themselves, actually not so much sad as it is stupid. Stupid is as stupid does.

I think all tattoos are ugly, but these bring horrifying to a new level. Especially the Tony Danza one...

You sound like a reasonable person. I think pretty much all t-shirts are ugly.
