First Posted: 07/28/2010 1:45 pm Updated: 05/25/2011 5:10 pm

Motown met D.C. on Tuesday night as Aretha Franklin and Condoleezza Rice played a concert together in Philadelphia to raise money for inner-city music education. Aretha supplied the vocals, while Condi hammered it out on the piano. Both ladies later sat down with "Good Morning America" to talk about their political views and the importance of music. The event raised a total of $582,000.

I clicked on this article to watch an Aretha performance - not to sit through a commercial only to have newscasters talking over it. Very poorly done!

One little song with Aretha Franklin is not going to erase the fact that Condoleeza Rice collaborated with Bush and Cheney to commit war crimes. She can hire a public relations person to put her on a stage and she can play the piano all she wants; it's not going to help.

The Queen of Soul performs with the Queen of the Damned. At least it was for a worthy cause.

Don't make this a habit Mrs. Franklin. Ms. Rice will use your good reputation to rehabilitate her own. But there is simply no going back from supporting illegal wars and torture.

Good for both of these talented woman! I may not like or agree with Condi on anything political but she is a very talented pianist.

All of her clothes are stretched beyond the limit. It's her "signature." Boggles the mind.

Politics aside, I'm glad to see they collaborated for a good cause.

This is for Monk2001:
Your comment: “UNLESS the person you’re judging is a black man and is president... then judge away.”
You are a bigot, a racist and an embarrassment to our country. It’s people like you that set a bad example for our youth.
Your problem isn’t with his politics; it’s his color and that makes you a very sick person.
I hope you don’t have children because your illness will set them on a very sad path.

I agree with you ...

Where was all this rhetoric (@Monk2001) when Bill Clinton was in office (if their concern is Repub vs. Dem)

Pres. Obama is far more to the center than Pres. Clinton.
