Wall Street Journal

politico.com:

It looks like Rupert Murdoch has finally figured out a way to make the White House pay -- literally.

The Murdoch-owned Wall Street Journal has jacked up the rate it charges the administration's news clipping service by a jaw-dropping $600,000 per year -- and is steering the White House towards a direct deal with News Corp., according to an administration official.

Murdock just wants to help....himself and his failing newspaper. A once highly respected business news paper is now just a rag. There are too many other non News Corp sources available.

I've got an idea how the White House should handle it.... drop the WSJ and go to the nearest comic book store, the information you get there would be just as reliable.

“Obviously, we’re not paying $500,000. This is taxpayer money,†the official said. “We have no idea how we’re going to handle this. We may have to drop [The Journal].†Good for them.

That's because so many people stopped buying it when Murdoch bought it. I don't read it anymore. Before? The news. The editorial page, not so much. Now the whole paper is one
big WSJ editorial page.

Sounds like a squabble over who gets that free seat at the press conference. Fox Pretend News can stand out in the hall for all I care.

Why do they even bother to show up anyway? They just make stuff up as they go as it is.

It's pretty obvious Fox is the propaganda wing of the Republican Party and it confounds me no end to listen to conservatives deny it.

I gave up looking at the WSJ when Muroch bought it and I suppose the White House can also.. or perhaps the WH can charge the WSJ for their seat at press conferences 600.000 for the year to repay tax payers if they do end up paying for the news service clippings..
