Matthew Weiner To January Jones: Eat & Stop Working Out!

Matthew Weiner To January Jones: Eat & Stop Working Out!

January Jones covers September's Tatler, and UK's Daily Mail has some excerpts.

January tells the magazine that 'Mad Men' creator Matthew Weiner told her to gain weight.

"He would prefer we didn't work out and that we eat really well, so we look like healthy women," she said.

Even if she is not responsible for the public infatuation with Christina Hendricks' curves, January tells Tatler she is glad the show has brought back the idea that "it's OK to have curves and be a woman," she said. "I wish more women would realize that's what men like."

January was having the same conversation about her weight with 'Mad Men' producers a year ago.

"I got told a couple of days ago that I look too skinny, and I was in trouble," she told OK! magazine in July 2009. "I'm naturally pretty thin, so I'm trying. I eat whatever is at craft services. I'm a big eater. I'm from South Dakota, so meat, potatoes, carbs."

The Daily Mail also reports that January is now "quite taken" with her new curves, but does not quote January talking about a weight gain.
