WHERE: Traffic Art Space
136 East 74th Street
New York, NY 10021

WHEN: July 23rd - September 2nd, 2010
Opening Reception August 11th, 6-8 pm

WHY:

'Roadside America' features the photographs of John Margolies, who has made a career of documenting the rapidly disappearing architecture and design of our nation. The American kitsch that catered to the auto-tourist of the mid-century is largely being replaced with structures with infinitely less charm. In an effort to preserve the free-form individualism and pioneerism that these emblematic attractions embody, John Margolies has traveled over 100,000 miles over the span of his career creating a visual record with his camera.
