Paul Rudd's 1992 Stint As A Bat Mitzvah DJ (VIDEO)

Remember yesterday when we unveiled the lost Tina Fey commercial from the mid-90's? It was great for a plethora of reasons, one of which was that embarrassing footage of celebrities from before they were famous NEVER gets unearthed. Never.

Okay, that's not true at all. The past two days have now yielded two amazing videos of comedy stars just trying make it in this business of show. We all have to start somewhere, right? Yup. Even if it's at the local banquet hall for a Bat Mitzvah circa 1992.

In this video from The Jewish Daily Forward, you'll find Paul Rudd doing just that. And someone's gone through the trouble of editing out all the boring Bat Mitzvah ceremonies. No need to watch grandpa shuffle down to light the candle while the Harlem Globetrotters theme inexplicably plays. Nope it's all Rudd all the time. He just happens to be wearing a ridiculous outfit with an even more ridiculous haircut. Wait til you see him shred on the air guitar. Oh Rudd! (via Interweber)

I laughed so hard when I read this headline-not so much for the actual video but because I had just recently listened to the Kevin Pollak Podcast and when he was interviewing Mr. Rudd-Rudd had talked about his earlier job expereinces one of them being a DJ for Bar/Bah Mitzvahs back in Kansas. During Rudd's DJ carreeer one gig out of exhaustion Rudd had developed a SPAZ dance that soon became in demand at all his gigs. When Pollak heard about this Pollak basically put out a bounty of $1000.00 for someone to produce the video-whch makes me wonder if the Jewish Daily Forward collected?-also in the interview one night the friends that were waiting for Rudd while he was doing his Spaz dance so they cold party afterward were none other than Joe Buck and Jon Hamm-sigh
