A plane passenger who complained of smelling alcohol on the breath of a Delta Airlines pilot was kicked off the flight and had to wait a day to fly home, according to ABC News.

The 51-year-old passenger was boarding the plane in Atlanta on July 19th when the pilot passed her and a few other passengers on the jet way smelling of vodka. Angel complained to the staff and instead of being lauded for speaking up, was kicked off the plane.

"It was like I was the criminal. I was being escorted off the plane. It was extremely embarrassing. Everybody was staring, wondering what the heck is going on," Angel told ABC News. "Unfortunately, the message it sends is: don't stand up for yourself and don't question authority because you'll be the one treated poorly."

Angel claims a man next to her said "Did you smell that? It smelled like straight vodka?"
