During a summer produce cooking segment this morning, CBS Early Show host Harry Smith wielded a mandoline to slice some zucchini at guest Katie Lee's behest and promptly cut part of his finger off.
Cut to 1:25 for the start of the action and maybe turn away at 1:43 on the dot if you'd rather avoid the money shot:
The good news, though, is he's okay. TV Newser reports:
He ended up going to Roosevelt Hospital, where the father of CBS News medical correspondent Dr. Jen Ashton treated him.
Smith (and his finger) are fine. He didn't even need stitches.
Safety first! And our best to Harry.
