Including the University of Tennessee on this list is laughable. Seriously LAUGHABLE!! I read a comment from a Kentucky fan agreeing with UT being on this list and it's a shame. I guess because their Football Team has lost to Tennessee for 26 years straight then that makes it justifiable. When I toured UK it was one of the prettiest campuses I had ever been too. I didn't care that UT couldn't beat them in Basketball at the time.

I won't go as far to suggest that Tennessee should have been placed on the "Most Beautiful Campuses" list, but you have GOT to be kidding me that I found it on this one. I suggest that someone from the Princeton Review try actually VISITING the University of Tennessee before making fools of themselves by actually believing it is anywhere NEAR the 12 ugliest schools in the Country. Absolutely ridiculous.

Where is Wayne State University on this list, smackdab in grim central Detroit? Surrounded by highways to the west, north and east, this campus wins the "odor award' ( it usually smells like the inside of the Holland Tunnell). the haphazard architecture is slapped down on concrete and the campus is both grimy and dangerous. Walks from the main campus to the medical center a mile away are "take your life in your hands" scenarios.

Yeah, the University of Tennessee is so ugly... located in the green hills of East TN on the TN river... yuck! Please.

So true. I live near Knoxville and hate that dump. I also went to UT for a while and thought the whole campus was a cesspool.

So true! I live near UT and went there for a while, and I find the place very ugly.

Howard University is supposed to be ugly? That picture looks like literally any college campus in the United States.

I'm shocked by MIT. I toured there and the architecture (especially in the building shown) is amazing.

That is the most butt-ugly building I have ever seen.

Enough of these silly lists.

are we voting on building aesthetics here or the talent of the person who took the picture?

Both seem,....let's say iffy.

UMASS Dartmouth should be on this list. Spent some of my childhood there. During the winter, one of the coldest-looking campuses on the planet

Unfortunate photo for Howard University. They should have taken the picture at the Upper Quadrangle. Moreover, it's just a bad photo.
10:05 AM on 08/09/2010
To be fair they're all pretty bad photos.

Yeah. Unless you're Duke or YaleLaw, any "photographer" can make a school look bad.

Though, I can't throw stones. UHouston Law School is of the East German Bunker School or Architecture.

Would be nice if they showed an actual photo of Rutgers University. The pic used shows the NJPAC in Newark, which is a beautiful building. Rutgers does have a campus in Newark, which is across the street from NJIT.

The problem with Drexel's campus is that it is right accross the Penn campus, so it gets overshadowed. However, there are some new buildings that are going up and they look pretty nice. Also, the off camups neighborhood of West Philadelphia is going through is going through a revitalization and a lot of Drexel students are opting for their beautiful Victorian row homes.

Co-Sign. Market St. reflects very positively on Drexel. They're gettin there.

I went to UNO for grad school (hometown school) and I don't think it was that bad. I've seen worse campuses out there.
11:52 PM on 08/24/2010
I agree. UNO is a nice looking campus. I have also seen a lot worse. Same holds true for some of the other universities listed as well.

Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA should have been aat the top of the list. Most of the buildings look like low-income housing. There is no apparent planning or design. There is one very, VERY, large academic building ("The LaHaye Center") that looks like it was designed by Albert Speer after he saw Monticello. It dwarfs everything on campus. Even the newer buildings are beset with construction screw-ups. The roofs leak, the electrical doesn't work in some places. The whole campus (if you can call it that) is a depressing mess.

Yea, but Speer did make those rallies in 1941 Germany look good.
