Quest for Honor

WHY: Because exposing insane and horrific acts against women is the first step to stopping them. Mary Ann Smothers Bruni's film, 'Quest for Honor,' follows former teacher and tireless activist Runak Furnaj as she works with Kurdish activists, journalists, lawmen and members of the KRG to help solve the murder of a widowed young mother, protect the victim of a safe-house shooting, redefine honor, and stop the slew of 'honor killings' which endanger tens of thousands of women in Iraq, Turkey, Jordan and adjoining countries.

'Quest for Honor' was shown at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and has gone on to screen in Iraq, as well.
