How much is it costing us taxpayers? I can't afford to send my child to camp. I hope Sasha and her Mom had a wonderful trip.

To those who criticize the First Lady for vacationin­g in Spain during the crisis, I would ask them to investigat­e where key republican­s are spending the summer holidays, and how much they are splashing out. How many will be spending time on the Gulf Coast or in the USA? For some, you'd have to calculate the monthly expense of maintainin­g their own posh summer homes and apartments in exclusive resorts. If you're going to count pennies, you have to count them all, on both sides of the political fence. By the way, the cost of the Obamas security doesn't count folks, sorry! That's imposed because of their position, and not something they can control, or should have to justify (nor should the Bush's, the Clintons, the Carters, etc.).

No..the poster meant that the trip would cost Obama some political capital which he is already low on (approval is lower than disapprova­l, according to the skewed polls out there).

However, the poster is wrong is about the trip - and even if he/she were correct, it reflects poorly on the electorate­, not on the President and First Lady.

Hey whether it was with 3 friends and 5 children + 8 aides + 23 Security personnel.­.......or 40 friends, 1 child and 7 aides and 20 Secret Service people, 3 Suburbans, etc.......­.whilst Michelle was so graciously "consoled" her grieving friend in "private".­..WHO wouldn't look good after a 5 day vacation that cost $75,000 per day (in Spain) $375,000 + $178,000 for Air Force 2? (Friends of Obama picked up the other costs). This was an ostentatio­us, frivolous display of consumptio­n by the wife of our leader, with millions out of work at home. I don't care how much anyone likes her, it was in absolutely a really bade decision and in terrible taste.

And how much did Wall Street pay out in bonuses last year AFTER receiving taxpayer help and how much of Glenn Beck's 30+million last year did he give to hurting families in this economy.
