Tea Party Running Short On Cash

Tea Party

Politico:

Some leading tea party activists are concerned that their efforts to reshape American politics, starting with the 2010 elections, are being undermined by a shortage of cash that's partly the result of a deep ambivalence within the movement's grassroots over the very idea of fundraising, and partly attributable to an inability to win over the wealthy donors who fund the conservative establishment.

Oh. That's sad to hear.

Look I have a couple of boxes of tea bags I could donate. I think they expired last September but if you don't get them wet I'd say they'd do for decor and your millinery (that means hat making) needs. One of them is mint blend which might be too elite, and I think may be a foreign company. If that's not "real American" enough then you might not want them. I'm sorry.  Read More...

What?!?! You can't get paid for being an American-flag-wearing, concealed-weapon-toting, illiterate-sign-waving, diabetic nutcase in a lawn chair???

Who knew?

Of course they’re running low on cash. The deep pockets of the right wing extremists who financed them in the beginning finally realized the TP clown parade is in conflict with the GOP clown parade.

Seems to me that the biggest problem the tea party has (aside from all the political/social issues) is that they are not a political party. Their candidates run as republicans. If they want to be a real party, they will have to compete with the republican and libertarian parties for money from people of their political and social bent. That will just further fragment the conservative base. Besides, the people who donate to republicans do so because they know that when the chips are down, the republicans will bring government to the rescue, and the tea partiers would not.

This is a "pseudo movement". It was originally financed and organized by the GOP in answer to the threat of meaningful health care reform. Since then, it has gotten out of hand and the tail began wagging the dog, forcing the GOP to take positions immensely unpopular with independents. It only stands to reason that the corporate donors and the GOP would cut them loose eventually to die an unfunded death. It had to be now because Bachmann, in her political ignorance, made many of the uber conservative nut jobs think they were viable candidates. The GOP got burned in Nevada and they certainly don't want any more Sharon Angles embarrassing them through association.

Great points all. Thing is they're stuck with them now, or at least whoever remains once the money runs out and the attention fades. Like the religious righties, they have nowhere else to go.

"Tea Party Running Short On Cash"

The scrotebaggers are running short on pretty much everything else including civility, decorum, common sense, education and tolerance of others. The scrotebaggers have consistently come up short on about every scale possible, especially the human evolutionary scale.

The typical tea party supporter isn't the type of person who donates their own money to political causes. The corporations who provided the initial money are expecting these people to dig into their own bank accounts to keep things going -- it's not going to happen. Their signs, their presence at rallies (as long as the bus ride is free) their screaming for the cameras -- that IS their contribution. They don't want to pay taxes to keep basic services in their own cities going, of course they're not going to start writing checks to the GOP now. If they give money to anyone, it's to their own Angle type candidates. Good luck with that.

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/nilegardiner/100050002/the-obama-presidency-increasingly-resembles-a-modern-day-ancien-regime-extravagant-and-out-of-touch-with-ordinary-people/#dsq-content

To get a good taste of just how disconnected from reality the mainstream media has become in the United States, simply read the articles complaining about how Obama has accomplished so much but his poll numbers are dropping because he isn't getting credit for everything he's done. It never seems to cross their minds that his poll numbers are dropping *because* of what he's accomplished. They also don't seem to have a clue that their bias is what created the popularity of talk radio and then Fox News in the United States

The 'parents'/owners of the Tea Baggers decided that they did not "play well with others" and so are giving them a time out...no more money until you have had your nap and act like responsible citizens, instead of the petulant entitled brats you have been so far.
