Brandon Phillips Blasts Cardinals, Calls Them 'Little Bitches'

Brandon Phillips St Louis Cardinals

Cincinnati Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips missed Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs after fouling a ball off his shin. But he was more than ready to play in the three-game series against their division rivals, the St. Louis Cardinals.

"I'd play against these guys with one leg," Phillips told Hal McCoy of the Dayton Daily News. "I hate the Cardinals. All they do is bitch and moan about everything, all of them, they're little bitches, all of 'em."

Cardinals manager Tony La Russa fired back saying, "We win the right way and we lose the right way. We've received a lot of compliments over the years that when we lose we tip our caps and when we win we keep our mouths shut, that's my comment."

The two teams are in a tight pennant race in the N.L Central division. The Reds are currently in first place, but by only one game. St. Louis beat Cincinnati 7-3 on Monday night.

St. Louis Cardinals to hire Brandon Phillips as motivational speakerST. LOUIS – Reeling from a devastating pair of losses to the lowly Chicago Cubs that snuffed the euphoria following their triumphant sweep of the Cincinnati Reds, the St. Louis Cardinals are taking a drastic measure. They have created a full-time motivational speaker position on the team and offered it to Brandon Phillips, the second baseman of the rival Cincinnati Reds.

A week ago, Phillips hurt the Cardinals feelings when he observantly noted that the team, from its players up to its sulky manager Tony La Russa, whined a lot. Predictably, the Cardinals complained loudly about Phillips’ comments, with La Russa warning ominously that Phillips would “have his problems with his boss and his teammates” and even scurrying after St. Louis reporters to offer additional, unsolicited on-the-record complaints about his verbal antagonist.

Words swiftly turned into action in the game following the publication of Phillips’ comments, with shrill-voiced Cardinal catcher Yadier Molina springing up from his award-winning wide stance behind home plate to chirp in Phillips’ face during his first plate appearance. Both benches cleared and the Cardinals went on to sweep the Reds in the three-game series ...

I love my Cardinals and always will. That said this season they have no bullpen and can't hit very well. Maybe they are little bitches. Oh well, it's almost football season so nobody should care that much anyway.

LaRussa is the biggest phony in baseball, i remember how in the 2001 spring training season he had his pitchers constantly throw at Mike Piazza's head to intimidate him, low class but he's been like that since he managed the White Sox.
I hope Brandon Phillips clocks the Cards.

I think he got one ball out of the infield for an out. Is that your idea of "clocking"?

He's an ignorant fool. St. Louis is one of the most revered organizations in all of major league baseball and has been for decades.

They DO whine a lot. You gotta admit that. LaRussa whines all the time. Remember the 2004 World Series? Whine about the hotel they were given in Boston, whine about no restaurant service at 2 AM, Yadier Molina whining about Manny Ramirez trying to steal signs from second base. Reggie Sanders lecturing Orlando Cabrera about how to play the game correctly....for one of the most revered organizations in all of major league baseball they whine an awful lot.

Our schoolyard media strikes again in hopes of turning it into an eyeball drawing longterm food fight.

I remember when adults used to inhabit the media. Too bad that is no longer the case.
