Former NASA Head And LSU Administrator Sean O'Keefe Reportedly SURVIVES Plane Crash

Former LSU Chancellor Sean O'Keefe has survived a plane crash in Alaska, Chancellor Michael Martin said in a statement Tuesday afternoon.

"The LSU community is happy and relieved to learn that former Chancellor Sean O’Keefe and his son Kevin were found alive following their plane crash in Alaska," Martin said. "Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to everyone affected by this tragic event, and we send our deepest condolences to the loved ones of those lost in the crash.

I'm scared to death to post this comment but I must. I dreamed of this event last night (after the fact). I know this will sound strange to say but i'm compelled to say this out loud: This person (a man) was at peace as the plane angled left -- downward into the white (for lack of better description). Who ever you were, I was drawn to you and shared that moment with you. I hope that "this" is what you wanted me to do... To share your feelings.....

But O'Keefe stirred controversy at the end of his mandate when NASA decided not to send a manned spacecraft to repair the popular Hubble Space Telescope, a decision later overturned by his successor. It was also criticized after a Government Accountability Office report revealed the agency spent and additional 20 million to fly NASA's top officials in government aircraft instead of commercial flights. Ala is the former abbreviation for Alabama. I had read elsewhere that the plane had crashed in AK as in ALASKA. Which is it?

I'll go with AK as Ted Stevens was supposedly on the flight too.

Ummm...considering that an O'Keefe family source confirmed that O'Keefe and his son SURVIVED the crash, maybe this headline should be changed...
