Sarah Palin's 2010 Endorsement FAILS

The Huffington Post     First Posted: 08/11/10 07:25 PM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 06:20 PM ET

Sarah Palin entered the high stakes game of political endorsements last year with a big fat whiff. In New Yorks's 23rd Congressional district, Doug Hoffman, the divisive conservative counterpart to the more moderate Dede Scozzafava, won the support of Sarah Palin and of Tea Party types, but not much else. Hoffman eventually lost to Bill Owens in a highly symbolic special election.

Since then, the former Alaska Governor's involvement in a number of races has not always produced the results that she would have liked.

Throwing her weight behind candidates in a total of 34 races according to the Washington Post (winning 10 and losing 8, so far) this election cycle, Sarah Palin's once strong streak of helping -- or perhaps simply picking -- eventual winners has begun to weaken. And now, with four of Palin's more obscure choices losing elections in a matter of weeks, some within the GOP, such as Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.), have begun to question the real effect of the former vice presidential candidate's support.

Of the candidates Palin has already endorsed, 15 of them still have upcoming primary elections. And as November draws closer, she'll be expected to hit the campaign trail again for those mama and papa grizzlies who are still around for the general election. On top of all of this, there is little reason to believe that Palin is close to quitting the endorsement game, as much as some might like her to. Be prepared to see a growing list of Palinites, and with it, most likely a continuing rollercoaster ride of successes and failures.

Take a look back at some of Sarah Palin's most spectacular flops and vote on the biggest fail.

In other words, she could have picked the winners just as well with a blindfold and a dartboard - which is probably how she does pick most things, when her hillbilly telepromter fails her. What $ary is up to is trying to make people in the Republican Party feel indebted to her, so she can use their support to be nominated for the Party's candidate for President in the next election- but true to her  Read More...

It especially saddens me to see women involved with the GOP. After years of oppression and still having to work twice as hard as men to obtain somewhat the same "status," one would think women would know better than to vote or be a part of an organization that could truly care less about them.

On top of that these same women vote to cut small business loans to other women, rally for the banning of abortion, and further relish in the 1950's illusion that Beaver Cleaver ever was.

Palin once said in an interview that she could have had an abortion but she chose not to...she had a CHOICE and completely misses her own point when she votes against a woman's right to choose.

My surprise of GOP support goes to anyone, really, but women and other minorities (even though all are the actual majorities) surprise me when they fall for processes that harm their own well being and then teach others to do the same.

Sarah Palin's "failure" to carry CeCe Heil was not because of Palin. CeCe Heil's issues statements regarding healthcare caused her loss to David Hall. CeCe believes that the Congress can declare a law unconstitutional ab initio (from the beginning) and therefore make it void by concurrent resolution. There are no precedents for such an action and in fact concurrent resolutions which are not signed by the president do not carry the weight of law. This procedure was discussed with her staff at length by me, but she stuck to her guns (that were shooting blanks). No Republican won a majority. David Hall only beat CeCe by about 10 percentage points with his 36% or so. Jim Cooper, the incumbent Blue Dog Pelosi follower's only hope is that the 13 Independent, Green and Libertarian candidates will dilute Hall's voting pool. Sarah Palin should have helped CeCe see the error of her stand that the law "doesn't deserve repealing". It does. Her method would not have worked. That's why she lost. But she was close.
We're now working to prevent a Ross Perot event like '92 by bringing the 13 wild cards into agreement to throw support to the Republican. It may work. Stands a better chance than California's budget.

Sarah Palin: Legitimate Questions for the President
*
Gov Palin has some questions for President Obama, and she posted them on Facebook Saturday:
Legitimate Questions for the President

Mr. President, should they or should they not build a mosque steps away from where radical Islamists killed 3000 people? Please tell us your position. We all know that they have the right to do it, but should they? And, no, this is not above your pay grade. If those who wish to build this Ground Zero mosque are sincerely interested in encouraging positive "cross-cultural engagement" and dialogue to show a moderate and tolerant face of Islam, then why haven't they recognized that the decision to build a mosque at this particular location is doing just the opposite? Mr. President, why aren't you encouraging the mosque developers to accept Governor Paterson's generous offer of assistance in finding a new location for the mosque on state land if they move it away from Ground Zero? Why haven't they jumped at this offer? Why are they apparently so set on building a mosque steps from what you have described, in agreement with me, as "hallowed ground"? I believe these are legitimate questions to ask.

Death wisher Keith Halloran suspends campaign in NH
*
From RedHampshire.com comes word that Keith Hallaron has told WMUR that he will not actively campaign for the New Hampshire House:
Halloran at first called the criticism of his comment a “tempest in a tea party tea pot,” but he later issued a statement on Facebook apologizing for the post. Thursday, he said he was withdrawing from the race for District 7.

“After consulting with the secretary of state’s office, I am withdrawing as an active candidate for the New Hampshire House,” Halloran said in a written statement.
Another New Hamshire Dem, State Rep. Timothy Horrigan, had already resigned his seat and said that he would not seek re-election after ill-considered comments that he posted on Facebook as well.

Are there STILL people paying Palin to fly in and endorse them? This woman is getting richer and richer and feeling like she's the cat's pajamas.
I don't laugh at her because I'm old enough to remember that Reagan got two terms in the White House, despite the disbelief by many that anyone could take him seriously. But enough people did, and those same people are ready to vote for Palin. And I will never recover my confidence in the the American voter after Bush also got two terms.

The mama grizzly routine is annoying me. Mauling, shooting, butchering, whatever. I don't see why this adds to her appeal for anyone. Does posing with big hunting guns and standing in front of turkey slaughtering facilities make her seem more macho? How does that increase anyone's confidence in her ability to succeed in any sort of government job? I think it does but I don't understand this.
I'm hoping that she doesn't really want a government job, since she and her family are already living the sweet life being celebrities, which is more money and less work than elected office (usually).

In Delaware, we're awaitingPalin's endorsement of St.Christine O'Donnell who is challenging Mike Castle and also has no answers for how to live on $13.00 a day AND lied about receiving a degree AND in her run against Joe Biden in 2008 never paid campaign employees. Sarah, please (on bended knee) come to Delaware and stand next to your little grizzly sister.

Palin's legacy so far:
1) She took a small town with no debt to speak of and left it with over 20 million in debt - that is a 2,000% increase.
2) As governor of Alaska, she left her state with a 70% debt to GDP, to put this in focus, California is at a 40% debt to GDP.
3) As governor she charged the state not only for personal expenses (not related to the job), but also charged the state for the personal expenses of her husband and kids (who are not even qualified for such compensation).
4) She set up a PAC, receiving contributions from her lemmings, then using the PAC to purchase her own book even to this day. If she simply transferred PAC money to her personal account directly, that would be a crime, but by having the PAC buy her books she can legally collect the royalties.
5) She attacks someone for using a teleprompter when using one herself.
6) In an effort to get out of the findings of a bipartisan committee that found her guilty of abuse of power, she called for an investigation on herself, allowing her, under state law, to appoint her own cronies to investigate her.
7) She failed to report taxable property although she was governor and expected to at least make a show of abiding by the law of the land.
8) When facing ethics investigations she chose to quit rather than to simply come clean.
