Jersey Shore: Dead Fish Wash Ashore In Thousands For Second Time This Week On East Coast (VIDEO)

First Posted: 08/12/10 02:28 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 06:20 PM ET

Dead Fish

NBC Philadelphia reports that tens of thousands of dead menhaden fish washed ashore Wednesday on a New Jersey beach along Delaware Bay.

The incident is strikingly similar to an occurrence from Monday, when thousands of dead menhaden also washed ashore over 200 miles away in Fairhaven, MA (see video HERE).

N.J. Department of Environmental Protection officials say initial tests show no signs of toxic phytoplankton, like red tide, in the water, and they are still examining oxygen levels. Fisheries in Massachusetts alleged low oxygen from warm waters was the cause of the mass kill in Fairhaven, according to CNN.

Strangest of all, seagulls aren't going near what would normally appear to be a free lunch for the area's birds.

And just how far will our trusty news organizations go to cover this story and ask the serious questions? No, instead lets hear, for the millionth time, about the flight attendant from Jet Blue.

It's also possible the microbes that eat oil at sea bottom have increased dramatically, due to increased amounts of oil. When that happens they use up an enormous amount of oxygen in the water creating dead zones. Without that oxygen fish will certainly die in great numbers.

Samantha Joye, a marine sciences professor at the University of Georgia at Athens, said it's good news that the microbes are eating the methane. However, the microbes also use oxygen in the water, and Joye said the repercussions of the resulting oxygen depletion aren't yet known.

No one is so powerful that they can stop the march of time

And so it is happening – that which was predicated, foretold by those with commonsense - those who were living through the horror known as the Deep Water Horizon Disaster. The oil was spewing forth and the government and BP were trying to hide the amount by dispersing it with COREXIT.

You cannot pour on, spray onto or disperse the oil without creating an even bigger ecological disaster.

Corexit is so nasty that seagulls won't even eat it. Clearly, the toxins are in the deep ocean currents, and there is no way to stop them. The well may be plugged (MAY), but this catastrophe will be upon us for decades. We haven't bought gasoline or anything else from any BP stations in months...this seals the deal. Unless they start selling gas for a dollar a gallon, they won't be seeing any of our vehicles at any of their stations again.

If anyone takes a look at the map of ocean currents you can easily see that the clockwise current in the gulf not only mixes up the oil in the rest of the gulf waters, but also causes it to blend with the water in the famous "Gulf Stream" which runs up the East coast of the US and then cuts across to northern Europe. The spill's problem is more than just the oil sitting on the top of the water - that is only a fraction of the problem. There is also TONS of oil dispersed in the water in huge plumes that clog up fishes gills, gets degraded by bacteria who use up the oxegen in the process, and will, ultimately, cause fish die offs as they swim along in the stream which has, until recently, been a time of happy eating and mating. My prediction ? This is only the first few incidents of the massive environmental impact this fiasco will have on our world.

Turns out that the birds are smarter then we are. Provides a whole new perspective on the term "bird brain," doesn't it?

This is just the beginning of the die off period.

Maybe the caused greedy energy companies who use a method called
fracking, short for the hydraulic fracturing that happens when energy industry and drilling companies blast through underground rock looking for oil and natural gas. (There are already some 450,000 underground wells drilled across the country.) The hydrocarbons involved and the method itself are responsible for a range of pollution and health problems.

Extract urine from the fish's bladder and do a tox-screen on it.

What do you bet it's the natural decay of corexit from the gom in the waters along the Gulf Stream.

Not only is the planet decaying before our eyes -- the corporations are helping it along as quickly as possible.

Is there some massive scheme afoot to kill us all?
11:03 PM on 08/13/2010
You'll find the answer within the first few chapters of: "Animal Factory" - The looming threat of industrial pig, dairy, and poultry farms to humans and the environment, by David Kirby (March 2010)
There is a case-study in the first few chapters that is focused upon hog farms in North Carolina... with kills of the exact same fish... and what caused it.
Read it and weep.
Then find out who to contact about this CAFO (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation) issue in your area at: http://www.nrdc.org/water/pollution/factor/contact.asp

How many thousands/millions of fish washing up on shore will it take before they evolve and start walking?

Walk, damn you, walk!

Gulf oil? If the sea gulls aren't eating it, there must be something seriously wrong with the fish. I hope thorough testing is done.
