In a world full of reality shows and "mockumentary" style comedies, it's refreshing to see an old fashioned multi-camera sitcom come to Comedy Central. Starting tomorrow, Tuesday Aug. 17 at 10:00 p.m. EST, "Big Lake" stars Chris Gethard, Chris Parnell, and Horatio Sanz, and has powerhouse executive producers Will Ferrell and Adam McKay.
The show revolves around Gethard's character Josh Franklin returning to his hometown of Big Lake, PA after losing his entire family's life savings in the stock market. With the help of former teacher Mr. Chris Henkel (Parnell) and childhood best friend Glenn Cordoba (Sanz), Josh must try and appease his family and town with a series of good deeds, all the while tyring to keep his sanity while sleeping on his family's couch.
We had a chance to visit the set of "Big Lake" and get behind-the-scenes interviews with Gethard, Sanz, and Parnell. We found out a lot about the show, including who's the biggest comedian off-camera, which of the three has actually moved back in with their parents, and what it's like having so many "Saturday Night Live" alums working together again. Check it out (plus see the extended trailer for "Big Lake" below) and don't forget to tune in to the premier tomorrow night at 10:00 p.m. EST on Comedy Central.
