More of us need to point out to others how Glenn Beck is becoming more of a fascist demagogue with each passing day. Here are just some of the points that are fascist-like in my opinion that have me becoming more concerned:

* Beck uses emotion rather than logic or truth to make his points, usually anger and hatred. Look at the old clips of fascist speeches (you don't even have to  Read More...

What a fowl and inaccurate observation. Doing something good is now wrong. Pounce and kill the messenger........why bother even listening!? Shame on you.

Al Sharpton is far from a civil rights activisit he is a racial divider activists, no freedom to succeed activist and all together you can't call him a rev. cause he has bent and distorted the gospel so bad that he his nothing more than a theorist.

Your comments are consistent with those of certain conserative talk show host. What do you mean by racial divider? If he is a divider, what about Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck or some of the other right-wing idiologues? Do you have a problem with them? Its amazing how some people attempt to make Sharpton the wipping boy for every issue. Suggest you research the history of the Civil Rights Movement. It may help you understand why there are people like Sharpton.

I had a dream last night that an all 'puffed up' Glenn Beck experienced a Saul to Paul (of biblical fame ) like, spiritual transformation on his way to his brainchild--the divisive rally at the Lincoln Memorial. Stunning everyone of the thousand or so picnic sized crows in the vicinity that day he announces to his McCarthist crowd of angry followers his fervent support for financial reparations to african american blacks--for centuries of slavery and unequal treatment. WOW I thought before I awoke from this all too obvious fantasy, he really did try to bring honor back to the Southern States in America!.

But now, I'm back to reality and Glenn Beck's eternal 'Opposite Day' in America'--where restoring honor means eschewing King's version of his all inclusive dream and instead sticking it to immigrants and the poor, the teachers and scientists and those of us who join unions to get better health care benefits and higher wages. Where people who favor more unspoiled parks, voluminous forests, clean oceans, and work to protect endangered species are destroying this country.

In my opinion, unless Glenn Beck apologizes for calling the President 'racist against white people,' he should not approach the mic at his own rally. King would turn from the affair in his grave! if he did.

To have a bunch of narrow minded rascist corporate flunkies at the Lincoln Memorial on the anniversary of King's speech may be allowed under the constitution, but really, is it in good taste?

The irony is so rich here.

"Lately, in the last 20 years, we've been told that character doesn't matter."

Really? By whom? I have not heard that line of thinking at all. Being a straight, white Christian who only cares about the lives of people not yet born doesnt matter so much, but PLEASE don't confuse that with character.

Oh, I don't know. Maybe by an ex-President?

That's it, that's all you got that justifies your ignorance. Bill Clinton cheated on his wife and lied about it. Bush lied and started 2 wars and 10's of thousands of people have died. A little bit of difference there wouldn't you say. And your rebuttal is dau Bill Clinton. Pathetic.

Doesn't Glenn Beck have the RIGHT to give this speech? You know, like Muslims have a RIGHT to build a mosque at Ground Zero? or do neither of them have the right? I'm confused, as it seems that the same people that are blasting Glenn Beck over his speech seem to be supporting the mosque.

And the people supporting the speech are against the Mosque. Can you spell irony?
04:38 PM on 08/22/2010
Just for the record, I think both are inappropriate. But, then again, I don't let ideology get in the way of common sense.
03:15 PM on 08/24/2010
actually my friend. I say they both have the right. But most aren't quetioning the right to build the mosque they are questioning the motives to build the mosque and who the mosque how the mosque is funded. as i recall when we built a new church 5 years ago in Kansas the city made us present how we were being funded before they okayed the project so boing chika bow wow.

Excellent comment. That's exactly what it will be -- the "be afraid, be very afraid" message of the Right.

Beck is devoid of any sincerity. Just watch him sometime feigning tears; just a big phony with a corporate-backed agenda. I wouldn't doubt that usurping the anniversary of a historic MLK speech is a tactic in riling up racial divisiveness to set the tone for the mid-term elections.

There will definitely be plenty of left-wing wolves in sheep clothing at this event. I can only imagine the plotting. this events going to be fueling the media for days

Just to think that if the average person was to think about the Grand Theft of our nation by corporations instead of debating issues of propaganda we as a people would not be in the predicament that we are presently in! The perpetrators have robbed us of our homes, jobs and life savings and at the same time managed to obtain bail out bonuses in the Billions! These Career politicians are indebted to the financial sector they are paid lobbyist for the elite! Wake up America let's vote the incumbents out of office and bring in people who want to serve the people not their own interest. Seek the truth!!!we are becoming a third world country because of the greed and corruption!

I feel I need to be there with an air horn to disrupt his rally.

The problem is no longer just with the Hate Pack. We have to find some way to reach the people who are being torn apart by their rhetoric. I've seen it change people I love and tear families apart. Their followers really believe the hate they are preaching. I pray every day for love and tolerance to win out, but we have to do more then pray. I know that you can show people better then tell them.

Imagine if a million of us showed up and smothered their rally with LOVE all chanting the same peaceful message and not giving them a chance to defile that day.

Glenn Beck is a clever and amoral huckster who inflames and incites the lowest passions of his audience in order to keep them entertained. There is nothing too base for him to say; no lie too odious for him to repeat; no smear too vile for him to include as part of his schtick.
