Amtrak Delays

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Amtrak service has been restored to a busy part of the Northeast after a train became tangled in overhead wires in Connecticut.

Service was suspended Thursday afternoon between New Haven and New York. Trains are running now, but with delays of up to 90 minutes.

One crippled train can sometimes back up travel all along the busy corridor between Boston and Washington.

A spokesman for the Metro-North railroad serving northern suburban New York says some of its service is also suspended.
