Brett Favre: Brad Childress 'Has No Clue About Offense,' Report Says

Brad Childress Brett Favre No Clue

Plenty of people have taken shots at Brett Favre for his retirement flip flopping. But now that the 40-year-old is coming back, some people might start criticizing Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress.

According to Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports, Favre and many players on offense "have no respect for Childress."

A Vikings player said, "Brett thinks Childress has no clue about offense. Brett just doesn't trust him."

It was reported Tuesday that Childress made special teams coach Brian Murphy and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell lie to the media about the whereabouts of the three Vikings who visited Favre in Mississippi.

Once Brad Childress learns how to properly deal with the elderly, he and his quarterback should get along just fine.

Is it just me or does Brad Childress sort of look like Walter from Breaking Bad? Just had that thought.

Good teams can win with average QBs who just play within their abilities (Ravens, Bucs). Good teams can also win with very good QBs (Raiders, Giants, Skins). Too bad, Childress thinks this selfish interception machine is the only way the current Vikes will win a championship. I think there are some players who are very pissed at what has gone on with Favre. When he final does retire, we'll hear a lot more Rodney Harrisons and Rod Woodsons with the guts to say this was wrong.
If I were a Vikings player, I'd be insulted.

Chill, man. It's just heresay. Don;t be so gullible for everything you read. I'm sure many players bad mouth their coaches in the locker room. If true, some snake of a player went to the media. That is where the weak link is.

And then Jared Allen breaks your QB in half and both our seasons are over. Great work, good call.

Nice try. Our QB isn't a 40 year old plus whining, angsty emo teenager. Favre is.

There sure are some pathetic looking coaches out there. Childress, Norv Turner and the fat slug who relays Jerry Jones instructions to Tony Romo.

I don't know if this is true, but I have to admit I was confused at times on what the Vikes were trying to do at times offensively.

Dateline, 2031:

Detroit Lion quarterback Brett Favre announced he will return for the 2032 season, even though the veteran will be 62 on opening day. Hoping to bring the hapless Lions (0-16 last year) to the Super Bowl, Favre admits he's not quite the QB he was during his days with the Packers, Jets, Viks, Bucs, Texans, Pats, Cards, Chiefs, Seahawks, Niners, Bengals and Bills, but added, "What I've lost in terms of speed, strength and bladder control, I've more than made up for in experience."

The future Hall of Famer also announced he is donating the Social Security checks he will start receiving this summer to charity.

As it should be for EVERY team in the NFL. This is what Carmen Policy, Eddie DeBartollo and Bill Walsh believed, and I saw it happen. The closest thing we have now to that attitude are the Pats, Yanks and Lakers - completely committed to winning it all every year (and I hate those teams).
06:46 PM on 08/20/2010
Valid point, but especially more so for Favre.

I save the embarrassment for the media that is trying to stir up things. Oh yah, and for the player that supposedly leaked it.

The Women (yes Brettina) is gearing everyone up just encase he has a bad season

Just someone to blame

It is all part of their obsession with Brett. They say they would never watch him play, but they sure do spend a lot of time on these threads trash talking him.

Ah, Phase I is over now that Grandpa Favre is indeed back. Phase Two commences when fans who are disappointed with his return are picking him apart anew. Ah, football, a sport of aggression, especially the fans. I'm so ready for Sunday, Monday Night and Thursday Night football!

I certainly don't want anyone to get hurt in the NFL, but if someone take out Lord Farve's leg on an opening season would be a gift for the entire NFL fans.
09:38 PM on 08/20/2010
You are not a nice person.
02:17 PM on 08/22/2010
Better yet, if "Lord Favre" were to grab a couple of beers and open the emergency exit door in the stadium of his choice (yes--"of his choice") the entire NFL would benefit!!!
03:30 PM on 08/20/2010
He keeps coming back because his last passes keep being interceptions.
