Snuggie, 'Macarena' Join Forces In Most Ridiculous Commercial Ever (VIDEO)

First Posted: 08/23/10 09:41 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 06:25 PM ET

It looks like the people behind the Snuggie found out about their new competition The Snazzy Napper and decided to step up their game. This commercial for the infamous blanket with sleeves uses Los del Río's infectious 90s dance hit "Macarena" in their latest ad. The combination of the backwards, belt-less robe (you know that's what it is) and of the one of the most annoying songs of the last century is SO bad, we just had to share it.

No one ever thinks of wearing their bathrobe backwards and just saving 30 bucks for something else?

Wait, they actually suggest wearing this out to a ball game? Better not be Yankee stadium, that's all I'll say.

I think they are targeted towards 6-14 age group. My stomach turns when ever I see these commercials. Blind leading the blind complex.

I'm pretty sure my children would prefer foster care to having myself and their father show up to their games in snuggies.

I'm totally convinced that the huge disconnect between consumers and marketers has increased to the length of a few light years. Not to mention that these types of ads, which do not reflect our reality so much as they reflect and reinforce the belief that Americans are nothing more than receivers just waiting to be told what to buy for the most ridiculous reasons. And by doing so, will make anyone including dogs dance and smile. So whatever happened to just putting on a sweater? Must we all look like couch potatoes all of the time?

Does anyone else think that snuggies look a bit like monks' cossets, only in inappropriate colors and patterns?
