Chelsea Clinton To Host Bike Ride For Haiti Charity

In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush joined forces to establish the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, to provide aid to struggling regions. The organization collected millions in donations to bring tents, medical supplies and other badly-needed humanitarian assistance to survivors. Moving into the second phase of the recovery effort, the fund will focus on the private sector, supporting small businesses to help rebuild local economies.

Now, Chelsea Clinton is supporting her father's organization by hosting a charity bike ride -- indoors. The ride will take place August 28 at indoor cycling center SoulCycle in Bridgehampton, N.Y. The charity fundraiser is Clinton's first public appearance since her lavish wedding ceremony in July, where she tied the knot with investment banker Marc Mezvinsky.

Each rider will pay between $500 and $5,000 to be a part of the 60-minute biking session. There is room for 71 participants to ride. The funds raised will support the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund.

The New York Post reports Bill Clinton is also expected to be present at the event.

Other supporters can make an online donation to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund or contribute $10 by texting the word "QUAKE" to 20222.

All i want to say to all my Haitians people arond the world; let get together for success, let do it for ourselves. Now it's time to wake up, we know by now, those folks are inhuman. Keep the dream
of Jean-Jacques Dessalines alive, let's follow our heros please we can do it for ourselves. All we have to do unite as one.

All these promises about haiti are just simply evil-minded, unfair, inhuman.I could not imagine after eight (8) months, nothing is yet getting organise. What is this? ( income tax or people lives yeah playing with. Now it's time to go beyond politic and start seeing human being equal as God the Father of all seeing us. Please stop, please!!!

Chelsea is doing nothing but spending time with her Dad and charging money. How about if she goes and works in a food bank without her dad and asks her rich friends to cough up money. How about if she auctions off her wedding gifts.

You have no idea what she is doing, She just finshed getting a degree in health, and she did soul cycle last year and raise moneywho do you think goes to soul cycle rich folk presumably some of her friends. You don't know what she donates of her own money and why the heck should she give away her wedding gifts you don't know what kind of personal gifts she got. What have you done to help haiti or pakistan. Chelsea has given her time and energy to have plenty of times.

she has given lots of time and money to help her parents. Other than that, she has done just what the rest of us do. I give money everyday...and if my daughters suggested they were deserving of a million dollar wedding...I would send them straight to Pakistan...to learn how they other half live.

Chelsea is a private citizen and how she spends her time is none of the public's business and I am no Clinton fan.

Wyclef should follow in her footsteps...you do not need to be president...just use your brains, use your celebrity status and show initiatives.

This is her coming out party?
04:21 PM on 08/23/2010
Hardly she did it last year, and she has helped her father organization before
04:34 PM on 08/24/2010
...nope she spent $3 million on that.
03:09 PM on 08/23/2010
that $3 million could have helped.
04:23 PM on 08/23/2010
Um her dad's organization has done and donated plenty to haiti and she has been done there several times! She cant have the wedding she wants because another country had a earthquake even though her father has gone down there countless times as well as her mom and herself and even her husband?

I guess you can't spend money on yourself, you should give it all to charity. These people have been giving and giving but you can't be satisfied.

No one can justify spending millions of dollars on a one-day event like a wedding. Especially when her mother "pleads poverty" and asks other people to pay for the $6 million debt she chose to recklessly spend towards the tail end of her campaign....when she had no chance of winning. How can anyone justify being a charity on one hand and recklessly spending people's money on the other. I suggest her charity money went straight to Chelsea's wedding.
