And designers think it's about them. Not in this case! Make a dress for her--all of her

In my opinion the dress is awful. She is beautiful, and would have look gorgeous in a simple elegant black gown

She's as beautiful as ever, but that dress looks like it's was a collaboration between Glad and Hefty.

I don't care what this woman wears-if it's low cut, I like it! I don't care if she's wearing a dress made out of alligator skin. If it's low cut, I will like it! That woman has got more curves than a bad road. :-) It's refreshing to see more women in the media like her rather than the emaciated looking women that are the rage nowadays.

Christina Hendricks is such a gorgeous woman - too bad she is drowning in Mortuary curtains. Christian Siriano heaped tons of heavy looking shiny bar cape material on her without regard for her figure and delicate skin. That is what you get from a amateur reality show contestant winner - It looks like he was given a bolt of fabric and told that he must use the whole thing, given form measurements but never saw the ultimate client Christina Hendricks until the Big Reveal. Siriano is no young genius like YSL, Dior or Givenchy at the same age. Asymmetrical tops are a dated trend that only look good is it is a goddess gown made from sheer fabric. Christina Hendricks has such lovely pale skin and an hour glass figure. A style by Victorian Era, when shapely women were exalted, would have looked great - if black a dress inspired by several Manet paintings would have looked great - particularly the lovely pail redhead in ‘Bar at the Folies Bergères’. Cezanne's paintings a joyful dancing in Summer dresses would be another choice for inspiration using lighter colorful Summer weight fabrics. A more modern inspiration taken from 1950's form fitting glamor would have also looked great. Christina Hendricks is such a beauty - she could have looked timeless if her designer had a grasp of hr femininity and a knowledge of art/fashion history.

Did she drop from a plane and use the parachute for a dress?

What an astonishingly beautiful woman !

That first pic -- I flashed on a modern-day Marilyn Monroe.
Of course, if MM were alive today, a large segment of the population would consider her fat. Which is a shame because, hey, REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES!!!

How does she look so good wrapped in a gothic curtain?

Honestly, I don't care for that particular dress, but the truth is she could be wearing a Gortex tent and I will still be obsessed with her.
