The Washington Post:

Media Matters, which has raised the torturing of Fox News to a high art, has come up with a new one: The group is trying to run an ad touting News Corporation's widely-reported $1 million to the Republican Governors Association -- on Fox, during Bill O'Reilly's show.

partial repost...sorry...but it's soooooo true

Despite the President's promise of a swift and decisive victory, Obama's War on Fox News has developed all signs of an unwinnable quagmire, making the White House even more isolated in its unilateral attempts to crush the growing media insurgency. As the war continues to grind on for a second month, public opinion is shifting towards a quick and  Read More...

Isn't it funny how the Faux News trolls claim because Faux has huge ratings their news is more relavant. They're the propoganda micrphone for the Republican party.

Exactly. Let's remove the word "News" from their Republican Cheerleading name and you have shows that aren't in the top 100 cable broadcasting audiences. Period. There was a Nascar rain delay that had a bigger audience than Beck!!

I watched the ad by media matters. If I didn't understand that news corporations are supposed to REPORT the news and not buy it or make it, I would have thought this was a public service announcement telling the good news that Fox is trying to get more Repubes elected.
The message is lost on the ignorant.

You got it wrong! The left is so good at producing bad news FOX is doing a booming business. The Republicans will get elected because of all the public service the liberals are giving them.

If FOX news ever quit broadcasting MSNBC would have to fire their commentators and screen writers.

If POX noise quit broadcasting, divisiveness would decrease by 75%

If POX noise quit broadcasting, IQ's would increase dramatically.

If POX noise quit broadcasting, bigotry would decrease......

Some days, I just sign on to HP for the laughs...like this article.

Some day, they'll teach students in journalism school about the self-destruction of a network from hypocrisy. I shall be signing on because it'll be funny.

The entire point of Fox "News" is to make angry old tin-hatters feel good about themselves. It doesn't justify a seat in the White House press room.

Stewart and Colbert are better news sources than FOXY "news" and CNN.

FOX is only comparable to the WORST soap opera you have ever seen.

There is nothing wrong with a news station having a particular perspective. I just don't understand why conservatives have such low standards. It can take three days for me to fact-check a story on MSNBC and find that it has been spun in a pro-Democrat way. Fox - it takes less than 5 minutes on Google to find out the complete story was a fabricated piece of nonsense. If you are going to have a conservative news corp demand it does a better job of spin-doctoring.

Saudi Prince: 'I Called Murdoch, and Fox Changed Their Headline Within Minutes

"There’s quite a bit of talk lately about the fact that Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is a major shareholder in Fox News, and a business partner of Rupert Murdoch. Some have questioned whether it really matters, though, if the Prince hasn’t tried to influence Fox’s news coverage.

Well, in 2005, LGF noted an interview with Alwaleed bin Talal at Middle East Online, in which he boasted about getting a Fox headline changed with a single call to Rupert Murdoch.

Al-Walid also criticised US media which he described as “in general … pro-Israel.” But he also accused Arabs of not being pro-active in fighting the allegedly slanted media.

He said that during last month’s street protests in France, the US television network Fox — owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation in which Al-Walid himself has shares — ran a banner saying: “Muslim riots.”

“I picked up the phone and called Murdoch… (and told him) these are not Muslim riots, these are riots out of poverty,” he said.

“Within 30 minutes, the title was changed from Muslim riots to civil riots.”

Let's have full disclosure. I think we'll find that the other media conglomerates contribute to republicans and democrats both. Fox is the only one that contributes almost exclusively to republicans. But that isn't surprising given that fox is the media arm of the republican party. Sort of like Pravda was to the old USSR communist party.
12:52 PM on 08/25/2010
First, MSN openly get the tingles down their legs when watching Obama, so technically, they'd be what the Pravda was to the old USSR communist party.

Second, news agencies shouldn't be donating to either party ... freedom of the press should include separation of press and state ....

Fixed News just needs to alter their motto slightly to "fairly balanced on an extreme right wing beam." I'm sure they are already planning to replace the White House Correspondents Association in deciding attendees eligibility and seating arrangements when the next Republican Administration is elected

This is one of the best illustrations re the future of news media in USA. Fox "Fair & Balanced" front & center. The only question is who'll be given the front row Network News chairs when they disappear over the next few years???

p.s. SAVE THE DATE: 1.20.2013 - End of an ERROR
12:10 PM on 08/24/2010
Fox reports the truth, and their huge audiences appreciate it. The other networks bias their reporting to bathe WonderBoy and his Excellent Team in a positive glow, and their tiny dwindling audiences prove that demagoguery is going out of style.
