Good idea. But if every consumer item has a recycling tax added up front to defray recycling costs according to the type of item and/or packaging, producers will be more careful to use more easily recyclable and biodegradable materials. Volvo used to do this. I don't know if they still do, but I thought it was a good idea. Why leave us the mess and take the savings in profits? Hemp car anyone?
