DENVER — Former FEMA Director Michael Brown is taking his Denver radio show on the road for live broadcasts from New Orleans in advance of Sunday's fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

Brown will broadcast his political talk show on Wednesday and Thursday evening. It airs on KOA-AM.

Brown headed the Federal Emergency Management Agency when Katrina hit. He became a target of the outrage over the government's response when former President George W. Bush told him with the media present: "Brownie, you're doing a heckuva job."

Brown says in a new HBO documentary on Katrina by director Spike Lee that he winced when Bush said that because he had just finished telling the president why things weren't working.

I think it is amazing that he can honestly go to the City of New Orleans like he has no history there at all. I don't think he ever offered an apology to Louisiana officials that he falsely accused of wrongdoing; or to Louisiana residents that were misled and lied to by him personally; or to the residents of New Orleans for the damage his actions and/or lack of actions contributed to their suffering. Takes a lot of gall.

The sad thing is that one time I watched him give a seminar, don't care to recall what it was but a comment he made a couple of times really is very hinting of his character.

His statement to paraphrase was 'I don't know if that is the way it happened. But that is the way I remember it and that is the way I say it happened." He was recalling a past incident (not Katrina). He made basically this same statement a couple of times. I just kind've thought it was a little sociopathic...but that is just my opinion. By the way, he was not a horse breeder or horse judge...he was the bit lawyer that oversaw the judges for a particular Arabian Association from the records I read.

It is my deepest hope that someone knocks his front teeth out while he's here in town so we can all enjoy the spectacle of blood and tears running down his face. And then when his handlers call for someone to bring ice, we can say "sorry - it was accidentally rerouted to Idaho."
That would be a start.

Hopefully they will run him out of town. He is the worst of the worst. It's lucky that he has a job after the fiasco of Katrina. KOA should be ashamed.

I hope they run this fellow out of town. He was responsible for much of the mayhem following Katrina. The former horse judge doesn't know when to quit.

The sheer audacity of Bush/Cheney sycophants never ceases to amaze me!
Isn't there a horse in need of doping somewhere?

Boy, some people have a lot of nerve. I guess he's just like a criminal...likes to go back to the scene of the crime.

Oh, Goodie! I am sure those who suffered and those who continue to suffer due to his and W's gross incompetence will greatly appreciate it!

I trust Brown will have a speedy exit strategy from New Orleans when angry residents realize that he's there, unlike that of inhabitants who were stuck there during the storm that drowned the city, under his watch.

"he winced when Bush said that because he had just finished telling the president why things weren't working." -- Bush read this and said "Oouch", did I do that?
