Digg DOWN Hours After New Digg Launches (PICTURES)

Digg is down!

Twitter users reported issues accessing the site, and Digg tweeted from its official account: "Hey all - hold steady. Thanks for all your interest in the new Digg. We're adding more capacity (bring it!)." (see the tweet below)

The outage comes the very same day Digg rolled out the new version of its site to all users.

TechCrunch explains what's changed with the new-and-improved version of Digg:

The biggest change to come in Digg v4 is the increased emphasis on social. When you first sign in, you'll be walked through a flow inviting you to begin following other users, both from a series of lists curated by Digg and from friends on your Facebook, Twitter, and Google accounts (which you can easily connect with). Once you've done this, you'll get to the real meat of Digg. Which, as it happens, looks a lot like the old Digg.

Users are seeing Digg's version of a Twitter "fail whale"-- an Oregon trail wagon with a broken axle (got a catchy name for it? We've heard "fail ox".)

MODS - am i supposed to be posting now ornot? 
I've tried using new features, but my letters are consistent­lysqueezed together.
I sent several test comments to try the features; words were stillsquee­zed together.

Here's what I received from one of my last comments, but can't findit on the page.

I check other comments and none of the others were squeezedto­gether.  Am I a
test case or what?

Another major change in this new version of Digg is supposed to be some protection against the "Digg Patriots", a group that has been gaming the Digg article promotion/­bury feature in order to massively vote down articles and user comments these "patriots" consider leftist, like those containing any praise at all for the Democratic Party, or just objective comments about Democrats; anything acknowledg­ing evolution and science in general; etc. These "patriots" have been planning on trying to figure out how to game the new Digg once it goes online--I wonder if they had a hand in the current problems?

I heard on of the fixes is the eliminatio­n of the ability to vote something 'down'. The good news is 'Digg Patriots' had to cheat cause in the arena of life, they're losing to Secular Egalitaria­n Atheist Liberal Society [SEALS]. Even the attempted take over of the military by these Dominionis­t is failing as soldiers who refused to attend a Christian Dominionis­t Music Concert were punished. Christians always restore to burning Witches, Torturing those who don't agree with them by claiming opponents are Demon Possessed. This time we're in the 21st Century motivated by Logic, Reason, observatio­n, analysis, conclusion by Verificati­on. SEALS rock!
