Who: Organizers are chef Suzanne Goin and co-owner Caroline Styne (both of Lucques, AOC, and Tavern) and David Lentz of Hungry Cat. What: Superstar chefs are gathering in Culver City for an afternoon of tastings and drinks, all to benefit Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. The Foundation was started in 2000 by four year-old Alex Scott, who at the time was battling an aggressive childhood cancer. She raised money through her lemonade stands for her doctors, to help them "help other kids, like they helped me." When Alex passed away four years later, her family continued raising money through her foundation to benefit other sick children.

Why: Grubstreet tells us that Suzanne Goin was "inspired by their appearances at Philadelphia's Great Chefs Event," another tasting that benefits Alex's Lemonade stand. Goin and husband David Lentz are bringing it to Los Angeles to give local chefs and residents a chance to gather and gorge for a good cause. And if that's not enough for you, get inspired by this: eight year-old Alex Scott passed away knowing that she had raised over $1 million toward finding a cure for her illness.
