Elisany Silva, Tallest Teen In The World, Sets Sights On Modeling (VIDEO)

Previously: At 14 years old and 6'9'', Elisany Silva is the tallest teenager in the world. Her height hasn't come without problems--she had to leave school and her parents don't have enough money to determine the cause of or treat her inordinate growth. But Elisany wants to make the best of her size, explaining that she is interested in modeling. She will reportedly be making her runway debut at a bridal fashion show in Belem, Brazil.

I had to create an account just to mention how inaccurate this article is. Brenden Adams is not quite 15 yet, but is already 7'4". If HuffPo meant tallest teen girl, they'd *still* be wrong. Marvadene Anderson is from Jamaica and is 6'11" at 16 years old. I tried excusing you guys by looking at the date of the article. Maybe this was an article that's two years old? It's not. Seriously, guys. How much research did you do? I did *zero* research but as soon as I read your title I knew you were patently wrong. Please, research your articles next time and stop passing out erroneous information!

i think you missed the point of the story, she has a medical condition that needs to be corrected, it is not about her having any records, if she does not get help she may die, this is a human interest story, no competing for the world's tallest teen, eventhought I admit it is wrong, let's all hope and pray that she gets the help she needs

Getting a solid medical exam and possibly treatment for what might be very bad is very important.

I'm in fashion and she is far too tall. This would be just a stunt to get attention on the part of a promoter. I hope someone is looking out for her so she isn't cast as a freak. It would be great if she could get medical attention and spend time going to school and learning how to adjust to her height as just a kid.

She's beautiful and has small features, which is rare for a girl that tall. I am sure someone will help her and she might be a model - Gabrielle Reece was a model and she is 6'3"

She's very graceful. She would be a great basketball player. I wonder if she can play? I hope she doesn't have Marfan syndrom which I think is the name of that disease that kills excessively tall people? I hope someone will volunteer to provide her with a medical check and some tests.

Yes she is gorgeous and perfectly well proportioned but waaaay too tall for modeling. Models max hight is between 5'11"-6'1"ish. But she is beautiful and sweet and I hope she gets some help with her medical condition! She is way too young to be a model as well and I hope she won't get hurt when the industry rejects her! Who knows though she could do some modeling with her face only!

It's too bad she didn't live in Canada. All her health care would have been covered and they could have done something about this before it turned her into something that obviously makes her feel like a freak. It's clear she's not comfortable with her situation and unfortunately it's not reversible. And with no money it's not treatable. Sad situation for her. Hopefully she finds something that makes her happy!

I think she should just wait until she's 18 and marry a rich basketball star. She's absolutely gorgeous and perfectly proportioned. If I was a 7 foot basketball player, I'm pretty sure she'd be my dream girl. What 7 footer wants to date some 5 foot something little lady when they can find someone like her? I think that's her golden ticket and the modeling will serve to provide her the visibility she needs.

Acromegaly??

I would like to know the height of others in her family. Unless they are also extremely tall, she likely has excess growth hormone secretion. This can lead to health problems and will shorten her life if she doesn't get medical care.
