Haley Barbour To Attend Rand Paul Fundraiser

(AP)FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour will attend a private fundraiser for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul next month in northern Kentucky.

Barbour, a potential Republican presidential candidate in 2012, is lending his support to Paul in his race against Democrat Jack Conway, Kentucky's attorney general.

Paul and Conway are seeking to replace retiring Sen. Jim Bunning, a 78-year-old Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher who opted not to seek a third term.

Paul campaign manager Jesse Benton confirmed Wednesday that Barbour will be at the Sept. 19 event at a private residence in Union.

During his primary race, Paul railed against establishment Republicans, but has been accepting their help since winning the GOP nomination.
