Mayor Donald 'Buzzy' Faulkner Loses Driving Privileges After Arrest

HARRISBURG, Ark. (AP) -- The City Council has revoked Mayor Donald "Buzzy" Faulkner's city- vehicle driving privileges after he was arrested last week on a drunken-driving charge as he drove a city-owned car.

Council members voted 6-0 at a special meeting Monday night to take the city vehicles' keys from Faulkner.

The meeting was called after Faulkner was charged early Friday by the Poinsett County sheriff's office with DWI, careless driving and driving without a seat belt.

Council member Rose Brown said she and others on the council were concerned about the possibility that the city might be sued if Faulkner were to be involved in an accident.

City Clerk Pat King said Faulkner did not attend the meeting.

If he is convicted of DWI, it would be Faulkner's second offense. The sheriff's office said Faulkner pleaded guilty in April 2007 to a DWI charge.
