Samantha Cameron Baby

British Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha Cameron have finally settled on a name for their newborn baby girl: Florence Rose Endellion Cameron. According to the Daily Mail, while the first two names have no familial significance, Endellion comes from the name of the village where the Camerons were vacationing when Sam went into labor on August 24th.

David reportedly said that Samantha would have final say on the baby's name, previously calling their discussions "North Korean democracy--there will be talks but she decides."

David is going to take paternity leave, the AFP reports. Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg talked to LBC radio, explaining, "He obviously wants to take some time off, like any young dad does, for paternity leave and I will just carry on holding the fort."

Samantha and Florence left Truro's Royal Cornwall Hospital on Friday. A spokesman for the family said, "Mother and baby are doing well and now look forward to spending the rest of their holiday in Cornwall with family and friends."

I really love old school names, especially those which are more Spanish sounding: Carlota, Sofia, Amalia, Beatriz, Miguel, Pablo, etc.

Florence Rose is a very pretty name. Reminds me of Roger Federer's daughter Myla Rose, and her sister Charlene Riva. Both names are also very pretty.

No I don't think Ashley is better, but Florence? It sounds like an old maid aunt.

"Florence" is very British (sort of like "Penelope").

What a lovely name for what I'm sure is a lovely baby. Good luck, and good health to all of them.
